True, but Prodrive had showed some bad turn out up until the AMR-One. (Like the WRC program with Subaru, failed F1 bid, and the AMR/Lola dispute)
P&M seems to be more successful in their programs

Yes, in a way I think that every single move Aston Martin has done since the last lap of Le Mans 2008 has just been further down the hill (including the vantage program). But in all seriousness the Lola-AM effort was no slouch... yes massively underfunded plus after 2009 underdeveloped as well, and unfortunately doomed to stay out of major contention as the fuel type was not favoured by ACO like the other one, but the car did relatively well with the ingredients it was given.

I meant the AMR/Lola, as the dispute between Lola and Prodrive . I don't feel Prodrive acted very professional and to me a good example of the Prodrive fall.

Well, in any case, my statement about the 'downfall' of AMR still holds

There are more specialist carbon tub companies than P&M , most of the big companies farm out their chassis tub builds .

I would expect P&M to run them though .

alexkiller8 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
pratt&miller is an engineering studio, but speaking about race cars is a just something more than a tuner! if they were able to build a prototype chassis/tub i don't understand why corvette (GM) didn't hire them to build a chassis for the new corvette DP instead to use other already existent chassis for their DP3. Surely they can be good to run the team as oreca does with toyota lmp1 project, even if i think that they will need new drivers, that already have experience with a lmp1 car.

Probably a cheaper method of entering Grand-Am and being competitive off the mark .

I suspect most of the fans don't even know there's an external chassis underneath the bodywork... it's even called Corvette DP which to casual ear sounds like a 100% official GM product. A bit like Lotus rebranding but Corvette actually did more than just signed the bribes, unlike that other joke of a manufacturer... so there's enough reason for ya!

Grand-Am also loves pegging cars back and forth, so little reason to develop a beast of a car if the adjustments immediately bring the car back to the level of others. Which actually already happened in the pre-season testing!

P&M didn't have that much to do with the bodywork itself, btw...

also because during presentation and press release about corvette DP, was never clearly revealed this "little" detail.... i found out this only during daytona race when in the HUD of spirit of daytona car appear the writing "coyote corvette DP"... then was easy do 2+2

P&M actually do build the Coyote DP-chassis. Used to be Cheever, but P&M was first brought in as a consultant and later took over completely.

It doesn't take much to hire some staff with plenty of experience - there are lots of the ex Pug design team and management available.

Not really a rumour or anything, but since we don't have general 'news' or Trans-Am thread...

Gateway Racing Delivers New Trans Am Corvette

Looks pretty neat, don't you think?

The series grid numbers have been pretty low since the 'comeback', to say the least, but I believe there's a limited TV deal of some kind for this year. The first race at Mosport kicks off in few weeks.

Murphy is still spreading doom and gloom rumours about Lola.

Today Murphy hears that Lola's been sold, and that "mass" layoffs will occur before the sale closes.

Honestly, i've lost a lot of faith in Murphys rumors. They are luckily ofte. Very weak.

Somehow I cant see that happening , when their core business is defense . And Im pretty sure there woulda been something in the rumour mill by now .

Lets see if Murphy is correct this time , for the laugh anyway . Maybe that bear should be retired to pasture .

Certainly was wrong about Risi not running, and Vipers coming to the ALMS, and Signature not coming, wrong about the troubles Tucker is in hmmm..

As far as the Lola issues, there is some substance behind it...

Viper's return was widely rumoured/reported elsewhere and same goes for Tucker's wacky adventures...

He's pretty decent in my books though.
