I generally find Vauxhalls a little on the boring side, but the Astra makes a good looking touring car.

You can only hear it at the end of the video, because music, but around the 40 seconds mark, oh that wastegate noise.

The Vauxhall looks a neat little car, let's hope it's good enough to challenge at the front soon enough

Agreed, it's a real cracker.

Anybody know if it was Senna or Tom driving the Vauxhall today? I can't help but feel like they could've done with someone with plenty of NGTC experience like Dave Newsham to help with the development of the car - especially at this stage.

They've got staff with experience though, so that should help balance that out.

It seems Matt Simpson has had a fairly hefty shunt in Spain. Hopefully he's OK, not much news at the moment.

True true. I always feel development is better with an experienced driver though - but then I'm old fashioned!

Hope Simpson is alright. That's a seriously nasty looking shunt and, I'd imagine, it will put a sizeable dunt in his budget already. Anybody know what happened (any sarcastic replays of "he had a front end impact" will be ignored )

Anyone notice that the PMR Vauxhall doesn't seem to have bonnet slats? Is that the first car since the turbo engines came out that hasn't? I wonder why this is different...

And Simpson sponsor the Ginetta Juniors too - if money was tight they wouldn't be doing that as well as the BTCC effort.

thats not the same Simpson. the logos are very similar. I guess Simpson exhausts copied Simpson racewear logo, who are an American company.

Not the same Simpson, the Ginetta one is the racewear brand

Matt has a successful exhaust manufacturing company, and his father owns the Simpson Recycling band of companies

This doesn't bode well for the season. I can see Team Dynamics spending a lot of time rebuilding cars rather than concentrating on winning championships:/

That's a bit overly dramatic, it's the first big shunt for Simpson.

There have been a few, I think the Honda and some of the Focus' didn't have them last year.

NGTC engines don't get stressed anywhere near as much as other turbo race engines (ie WTCC) and don't produce the same amount of heat.... therefore why introduce slats that create drag.

If NGTC raced in warmer climates with longer races... that might change.
