Rallycross Drivers 2008 - UK
Currently stuck waiting for a meeting so thought i'd fill my time with something useful...
What are your thoughts? Supercar / Div 1 driver of the year - Steve Hill (personally think he deserved crown) Supermod / Supernat driver of the year - Jamie Bird (drove well all season) Stockhatch / Pro1600 driver of the year - Julian Godfrey (kept lynchy on his toes all year then held it together when it mattered) Minicross driver of the year - Andy Lee (had shelley beaten until he moved class) Revivals driver of the year - Dean Jones (great all season) Most entertaining driver to watch - Dean Jones (super sideways always) Best race to watch - Supermodified A final Lydden Hill August (great to watch, but not sure I would have liked to race in it) Most unlucky driver - Liam Doran (liam was mega fast all season but the RS200 let him down a few times, coupled with a couple of crashes meant he didnt get his first win, but I don't think it will be far off) |

I'll go along with Steve Hill being the pick of the crop although I have to admit I was pleased Lawrence won the title with the 6R4.
Good to see Jamie Bird taking the supermodified crown too - that Clio is the best sounding of the supermods by a country mile and is an absolute rocketship off the line. Up until this year I'd had doubts about Jamies ability to cope with pressure during a race but I think he stepped up a level this season and was a thoroughly deserving winner. Stockhatch - Julian Godfrey. The car is looking a bit "tired" but he was as good as ever. I can't really comment on the Minicross or Revivals classes as I haven't seen them this year (although Dean Jones is worth a mention for his brilliant car choice ). |
