Sauber Sign Renault V6 Racer Neel Jani
I have just found this article http://www.crash.net/news_detail.as...81&language_id= and as Peter Sauber says he does show a lot of promise and mental tougness, particulary if the first race at Barcelona is anything to go by. Good luck to him.

Would be a good idea, with respect to Frentzen I think this might be his last year in F1, at least as a racing driver, perhaps a tester like Zonta though. Got to say though I was impressed with the way that Jani controlled the race, was a very mature driver against some good oppostition.

Jani is a good driver, it's a good oppertunity from him. I don't see Frentzen retire yet, he's better than Heidfeld at the moment. But a Swissd driver for a swiss team: never say never

Jani is lucky, Pechito not (2)
Neel Jani had a tremendous luck signing as tester of the Sauber team, mostly when we know that the Swiss team hadn't any tester since they signed Raikkonen as driver. Jani made terrific results with Jenzer team in the Euro FRenault 2000 last year and then in the Renault V6, when he won both races of the first event.
Instead, JosĂ© MarĂ*a LĂłpez (aka Pechito), had also a tremendous year winning in the Italian FRenault 2000 with Cram, and received the support of the Renault Driver Development team what moved him to the experienced Dams team of the Renault V6. He is fast, consistent, but had bad luck on the first event, when he had chances to win both races, won by Jani. Both drivers had the luck to be testers of important F1 teams, but the Swiss had much more chances to get a drive if Frentzen retires of Sauber team, but Pechito must put more hard work and wait more years to be in F1 because there are many "drivers to develop" in the Renault Drivers Development team, and the list of the possible names to be in F1 is now headed by Franck Montagny. Because that, Jani is lucky, and Pechito not. (but luck can change !) |

I don´t agree with you Mekola, when you said that Pechito had no luck in those races. He made bad starts in both races, that´s not luck, and in the first race he try to do an impossible move. The luck only took away the second place in the last race.

I don't noticed that before. Thanks.
BTW, it's any chance to see the FRV6 races in Argentina? If yes, in what signal? |
