Matthews Dad should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Martin Pratt (Chester Motor Club)

It is with sadness that I post the following message on behalf of Bob Chesters; Chairman of Chester Motor Club

Sadly over the weekend Martin Pratt one of the oldest serving but one of the hardest working members of Chester Motor Club passed away. Martin had been ill for some time, and was admitted to hospital for a second time three weeks ago. Martin had an operation last Friday but unfortunately did not recover from the operation.

Martin was probably the longest serving active member of Chester Motor Club, he had been Treasurer (more than once), Clerk of the Course, Vice President, Environmental Scrutineer as well as an enthusiastic Competitor. He will be remembered for his larger than life outlook, always having a word for competitors and organisers alike and his consummate enthusiasm for motorsport in general. He will be sadly missed.

All at Chester Motor Club send their deepest sympathy to all of Martins family and friends. May God be with you and comfort you in your loss.

Bob Chesters

I personally have known Martin for many years having been mentored by him in my early days as a marshal and latterly as a fellow Chester Committee member and event organiser

Martin was well known across many fields both as a competitor in Rallies, Hill climbs and as part of the team that runs the Chester Motor club sprints He will be sadly missed by us all

I mainly came into contact with Martin in his role of Environmental Scrutineer. Many are the disputes we had, but we never fell out over them. Many were the "putting the motor racing world right" conversations as well.
He was a gentleman and an enthusiast. He will be sorely missed by his many friends in the sport.
RIP big fella and carry on those discussions with Colin 'Moose' Benn in the noise testing area in the sky.
