Is that Delta's workshop, by any chance?

True dat.

In response to Chunterers earlier post, I'd be more likely to take health advice from Tony rather than Matt Hancock.

Tony? Crikey he ain't replaced Whitty or Valance has he??

Joking aside I try to lerp up with what they say to keep me sane and seeing things realistically. No point taking the politicians word as gospel.

I'm sure Tony still has a few words to say, however I'm sure he's not replacing anyone

It's hard to know when to trust these politicians, I just hope we can go back to discussing proper political things rather than this pandemic in the future. I think everyone has been bored with too much emphasis on the news on the current crisis and the like

All the best ones were on the radio back then, people such as Jimmy Edwards, the aforementioned Tony Hancock, Kenneth Horne, Kenneth Williams, a show called the Navy Lark that had numerous luminaries and not forgetting, of course, Prince Charles' favourite the Goons. There were more, like Arthur Askey, Tommy Trinder and Ted Ray; the list goes on.

lotustwincam should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Talk of HHHH Hancock got me thinking of old radio programs, and there was one set in post war Britain about a young apprentice builder learning the ropes from an old stager. I think it also got made into a TV program. Its now driving me mad (admittedly a short journey) trying to remember what it was called!

Anyone remember it?

The Navy Lark would not be allowed in todays PC world, with all the double entendre's like "Seaman Stains"

That wasn't the Navy Lark was it? That was Jasper Carrott's "Captain Pugwash" parody!

Possibly, Gordon, but they are still airing Round the Horne programmes quite a bit, still including all of the sketches that Kenneth Williams and, was it, Hugh Paddick with all their gay double entendres did. And you can also hear Navy Lark repeats on BBC R4 Extra from time to time, although I don't know if your Able Seaman is included.
