New Bugatti Details

It's hard to keep up with the top end of the 'market' and the lengths to which makers will go to produce the most expensive, the fastest, the most glamorous or whatever car for the fabulously rich to park in their garage.

Now Bugatti have put out details on their Veyron model... super looker, and the mechanicals are a treat too... W16, four turbos, 64 valves, 7-speed paddle-operated box driving to all wheels... have a look:

Top speed? Only 406kmh!

Woah - scary stuff! Pretty impressive though, even if it does look a heck of a lot like an Alfa. Interesting retro interior too.

looks kinda like an insect like a beetle (not the beetle car), you're right about that Alfa nose, and looks a bit Audi TT at the back. And the interior looks like something out of Thunderbirds (the old kids show) if you know what i mean.

weird,,,,

You're kidding? Alfa...??

That's all traditional Bugatti! From before when Alfas had any tradition...

like in my origianal post, i was just refering to the nose which looks similar to the Alfa. As most cars (here anyway) have horizontal, oval or rectangular air scoops/grills. The Bugatti and Alfa have more vertical shaped air scoop/grill.

Both are striving to keep a marque identity, using the original grille shape of the cars that had radiators standing out in the breeze... Bugatti's were shaped like a horseshoe, so recognisably different to that of the Alfa, more heart-shaped.

You see what I'm getting at?

it looks nice but they should ditch the ugly traditional grill it makes the car look old

I see where the Alfa comparason is coming from, although no-one said it looked the same- Ray, you're nitpicking again!!
I think the front end looks good with that grill- I think it works better that Alfa's does on their cars- but then I seem to be in the minority with the Farboud as well! Can't wait to see the Bugatti in the flesh!

I reckon it looks good. Don't know about the two-tone stuff though. If only I had a spare gazillion dollars ....

Those colours were by no means unusual on Bugatti 'Atlantic' coupes of the pre-war era... the paintwork effectively recalls their colour scheme and layout.

Pretty good for posing down at The Cricketers on a warm Friday evening in June......wonder if it would make a good tow car.....?

Ray Bell I have to agree with you about the grille. It is very original Bugatti. They have followed the retro closely with the wheels as well but the interior? A bit too much like 50's American for a sports car.
