Well, a nice win for Mikey and another big one as always at Daytona. Looks lik it was DJ's fault but to his defense, what was Burton thinking? Even if DJ didn't squeeze him out as much as he did, Jeff still would not have been able to pass without being blackflagged since he would have had to go below the yellow line in order to make the pass.

Lame... Very lame. I have lost all interest in watching plate races. And it's very sad. Tally and Daytona used to be my favorite tracks. Up until 1988 that is. After that they became less and less interesting to watch. Now it's like why bother? It's just one wreck after another. That ain't racin' That's wrecking or trying to avoid one.

I wondered about the "debri"

I don't really care for restrictor-plate or road course racing.
Restrictor-plate racing has become very dangerous.
I felt sorry for Benson, broken ribs, again !!!
Brett Bodine's car really burned, I was surprized that the fuel cell didn't blow-up.
DJ was so angry that the ambulance didn't come fast enough, to see him walking back to the pits was so funny, lol.
Joe Nemechek sure hit the wall hard, I'm glad that he was okay.
I have to agree that restrictor-plate racing isn't racing but is actually wrecking.

This explains the "debri"

With 2 laps to go, a red flag would have just caused another big wreck.
Some of the fans didn't agree, lmao.

I wondered about all that "debri" as the race ended under caution.

I watched it- While taping it- & I STILL have rewatch it to see if some of the comments I heard about the race were true.

BTW- Lars- the car was great. It's coming up your way. To Watertown- that's near you- right?

Ok- Lets see- It's the #3, 1987 Wranger Chevy driven by DE.
The #12 1986 Bud Chevy driven my Neil Bonnet.
& the #88 Gatorade Grand Prix driven by Krusty & DW.

July 18-19- & 20 at Kennedy Chevy
1221 West Main
Watertown, Wisc.

It doesn't say the times- But here they showed 10-2.
Kinda cool. Nice people who make a living buying, maintaining & showing these vintage cars.
Pretty cool when they start them up!

The only drama in plate races in last couple of years is will it be Dale Earnhardt,Jr.or Michael Waltrip 4 the win & which 1 is doing blocking duties .
Enjoy Jeff's misfortunes while U can,He will be back in victory lane & then We'll c who ends up

I'm thinking he felt more like "devastated"
& then NOBODY came to put the fire out!

I am NO Bodine fan. In fact my standard line before a race is- "Let's go bowling for Bodines" But ya have to feel a bit sorry for a team, car owner/driver who has this kind of thing happen to him. WTH were the fire trucks!

But really, what can you do for the superspeedways?, restrictor plates, and lower speed pileups, or no restrictors and higher speed pileups with less cars?

Heaps less downforce maybe?

take a look at this, interesting reading:
