RaceFanStan should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
This is interesting

Check out how the drivers points standings compare in the first 18 races of 2002 vs 2001.

One of the things that this highlights is how well Kyle Petty has improved over last year. Good to see but unfortunately he is going to lose the Sprint sponsor at the end of the year. Sprint is in serious financial do-do right now so it isn't a performance-related issue.

It isn't just Sprint. A lot of companies are in serious financial do-do right now. Have you been paying attention to the Stock Market at all? It's down to the lowest point it's been in since 1991-92.

Last week I thought about buying some Worldcom stock, but I didn't and now I wish I had. It was 5 cents a share at the time. and today it was at 13 cents a share. That would have more than doubled any investment.

The following is an excerpt from Money Magazine:
THROW THE BUMS IN JAIL!

I dont know why otherwise smart people seem to think that white-collar crimes like price fixing, insider trading and accounting fraud don't count. If anything, they are worse than garden-variety crimes like bank robbery because they hurt more people and cause far more damage. And white-collar crime, however genteel, is no different than any other crime when it comes to deterrence. We need tough law enforcement and some tough sentences to send a strong message to Corporate America: We're not going to take it anymore.

My comment: Companies like Worldcom, Enron, Arthur Andersen,Tyco, Global Crossing, Qwest, etc are killing the stock market and in turn making it very difficult for auto racing to obtain and keep sponsorship. The people that were responsible for "cooking-the-books" should be thrown in jail along with the stock analysts that mislead thousands of investors.
