2016 GP3 silly season
At the moment of course it's not very clear who will drive in GP3 next season. But the first rumours are in the paddocks.
There are very strong talks about DAMS joins the GP3 grid (and withdraws from Renault-World-Series). I also could imagine we'll see Ricky Collard at Arden as he currently is very strong for Arden in MSA Formula. At Koiranen Jack Aitken from their Eurocup team and Vladimir Atoev from the Koiranen run SMP F4 are good suggestions. I hope to see Konstantin Tereshchenko from Campos Euroformula Open squad at their GP3 team. Possible line-up: ART: Aurélien Panis, Ukyo Sasahara, Thiago Vivacqua Arden: Alex Bosak, Matevos Isaakyan, Ricky Collard Trident: Amaury Bonduel, Artur Janosz, Beitske Visser Koiranen: Matt Parry, Jack Aitken, Vladimir Atoev Carlin: Ryan Tveter, George Russell, Santino Ferrucci Jenzer: Ralph Boschung, Mathéo Tuscher, Kevin Jörg Status: Sandy Stuvik, Seb Morris, Alex Albon Campos: Konstantin Tereshchenko, Alex Palou, Diego Menchaca |

Collard is eyeing up the FR Eurocup apparently. Maybe not GP3 (yet). However, never say never.

Charles Leclerc is tipped to go to GP3 with ART.
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/121413 While GP3 is not excluded for De Vries. http://www.gpupdate.net/nl/world-ser...seinde-in-wsr/ |

Charles Leclerc tipped to move to GP3 next season:
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/121413 Pretty sure he'd be a title favourite, in the same way Ocon is this year after the move from Euro F3. [EDIT]Beat me to it Rf1 Fan |

We will see how ART GP wll cope with the next gen of car as they seem to have never got hooked up right the current generation of car. To my book this year ART Gp has been rather poor considering how good of a line-up they have (and how consistant they were) even though they are coming to terms with the car slowly but surely. Let's take Monza as an example even if they got very good results they were 4th fastest car in outright speed behind Trident,Arden and Korainen. In Spa they were fast in high speed turns but lacking top speed. Hope for their sake they find something in Bahrein with their top speed otherwise Ghiotto will win the title without being the most consistant driver. Getting a fresh start for Leclerc with new car might be ideal but ART GP in gp3 must get their act together. |

De Vries to GP3??? A backwards step in my eyes, from 3rd in FR3.5. Leclerc moving there makes far more sense.
And I don't mind Ghiotto winning. His raw pace in qualifying has been second to none, he's every bit as fast as Ocon. Surprising, but true. Ocon's reputation has hardly taken a knock, but Ghiotto is now a real prospect. Perhaps Ferrari should consider getting him on their books as the next Italian F1 driver, considering how poor Fuoco has been (you can tell who's developed most since Fuoco took the FR Alps crown in 2013 with Ghiotto 3rd) and how Marciello isn't exactly shining. |

Ghiotto has been the fastest this year but not the best. Missed starts, poorly judged move like in Spa race 1 with Ceccon or in Sotchi Race 2 with Bernstorff. Clearly considering his 3.5 series experience plus the fact he spent post season testings (+2 meetings in gp3) with Trident he had an head start over most of the field (even more with Ocon). |

They don't have the same level of experience , neither the same team. Also the comparison with Fuoco is unfair to Antonio. Could you tell me in 2014 who spent his year in faster cars (Gp3 and 3.5 series versus just F3)? Ghiotto is doing very good by being fast and having a good use of his package but as racer he was not the best this year. 2016 will be more telling about Fuoco and Ghiotto. While one will be probably in same category for the first time in his career the other one will have to face a new context (probably gp2) without his head start compared to his fellow competitors. I think every driver makes mistakes. Fuoco makes far, far too many and needs another season at this level. Ghiotto and Ocon, however, have shown that they are ready to move up.
For the record, with 5 poles from a possible 7 (including by a full second at a wet Monza), Ghiotto's average grid position is 2.57, whilst Ocon's is 2.86. That is absolute pace is it not? The rest are some way back, haven't bothered working them out! As far as I can see the comparison between Ghiotto and Fuoco is hardly unfair. Whilst Ghiotto had more powerful cars last season, Fuoco had more track time. Yes they're different but one is a fine example of a promising driver whilst the other can be at times but is a liability at other times. This is probably a debate that should be in the 2015 season thread but never mind... |

Well with Barnicoat in F3...
...also, with only 7 teams on the new list, teams have a choice to run up to 4 cars. Probably a good move to utilise the money only some teams can spend... |

Alesi would be jumping the gun a bit if he actually heads to GP3 straight from F4...
...but some of those names would make a very good and realistic grid for next season. Leclerc especially. |

Let's make an up at this thread...
ART: Charles Leclerc (?), Nyck de Vries (?), Alexander Albon (?), Giuliano Alesi (?) Trident: Arden: Jake Dennis, Koiranen: Matthew Parry, Matevos Isaakyan, Jack Aitken (?), Jake Hughes (?) Jenzer: Campos: Alex Palou (?), Konstantin Tereschenko (?), DAMS: Santino Ferrucci (?) I put the interrogative to the ones who I think there's a real possibility. I am not just guessing. We still don't know the dates for pre season testing. |
