A generous 8 as i did enjoy the battle for the lead.
In this era of faux tire war, we rarely see the driver in 2nd successfully pull off the earlier tire stop. |

The different tyre strategies from Mercedes and RBR made for an intriguing race. 7
Shame we didn't get to see more of the battles further down the field but the Sky F1 director chose to stick mainly with Hamilton and Verstappen. |

The differing tyre strategy between Hamilton and verstappen did make it interesting but the fact is it's almost impossible to overtake another car. Like Monaco, Saturday qualifying is better than the race

7. It got a bit soporific mid-race, but came alive once we saw Mercedes strategy panning out.

Gave it 6 as it was interesting - on a technical level - rather than exciting, per se, although the Mercedes contrary strategy had me on tenterhooks for a while until their strategic brilliance became apparent.

As it was a good day for gardening I only saw the highlights on TV4 but I gave it a 7. If I had seen the complete race I probably would have given it less as the 95% of the overtakes for places were with DRS.

It's really hard to rate some of these races. As a showcase of the brilliance of Mercedes to out-think everyone else, and Lewis delivering like clockwork it was fantastic, in almost all other respects it was dull as dishwater. What does that mean for a rating? I've seen it before, and it is loosing its lustre.

7 for me - the arm wrestle at the front kept it interesting and some of the midfield battles were verging on spectacular.
