Yes, but they were up against it. It was brave to go to Spa and obviously something went wrong. It’s a shame to come all that way for that.

Really I don’t think Bernie was being fair, Manor did a good job in F1 under the circumstances and it’s a shame they couldn’t go on

Does it not seem strange that the car did not run given all that was at stake? perhaps it was the testing performance that is / was the issue, 1.5 sec off the slowest LMP1 car at Paul Recard, equating to about 4 sec round SPA!
Manor do have a reputation, even Berni went on record to suggest they weren't welcome in F1, it all seems very strange.

This is not what Ginetta's statement suggests. They cut the team some slack to get the cars to Spa but couldn't do any more.

"Unfortunately, funds promised have not arrived from TRS (China) to CEFC TRSM Racing (UK).

The required funds for Ginetta were due some time ago and whilst we understand that TRS (China) has been working with its sponsors to sort the issues, without payment, Ginetta cannot allow the cars to race."

At least they have been honest about it, just a shame this had to happen. Outside circumstances stopping them from competing

A few more suppliers could have had to laid off staff after endless bullshit / non-payment. That’s real people losing jobs...

Impossible IMO. I am pretty sure Ginetta can fund at least one car as quasi manufacturer entry. This is bad for the bussines, also ACO would not be happy if this project failed.

...but Ginetta doesn't have any entries, Manor does. And Manor doesn't have any cars.

Why would Ginetta be a joke? They have built the cars, and tested the cars. They never tried to enter Le Mans or WEC as a works entry, and only ever went in to this as a supplier of cars to independent teams.

The team that wants to run the cars doesn't have the money to pay for them (yet).

...and pay for the car. And that's the most expensive part.

Last news on website was the Prologue, last tweet was announcing Oliver Turvey. It will be a real shame if at least one of these cars doesn't make LM.

Agreed, I'd be surprised to see the #5 withdrawn. The #6, rather depends upon the outcome of the meetings in China, but there does appear to be some cautious optimism on that front.

Hmm, Simpson, ey? Is Mike a nominated reserve driver? Or is he doing the sim test because Roussel is out and the #5 will be there with Ginetta drivers?
