2009 Formula 3 South America!
Seems like things are moving in South America despite the economic crisis;
63MKT, the organisators of the South American Formula 3 championship have ordered 20 brand new Dallara F-309 with BertaF3 (Ford Duratec) engine,260HP which is more powerfull than the "European Series" of Formula 3 Definitly a very good news for the south American Motorsport fans and drivers... Probably a good option to consider for some European drivers ... http://www.f3sulamericana.com.br/ |

A miracle if it's an option considered for Argentinian and Uruguayan drivers... (despite Berta connection)
Imagine that series born from an Argie formula series... it's shameful that is extremely focused on Brazil... ![]() ![]() ![]() BTW: SudAmF3 (when was properly SouthAmerican) used to have some European drivers and teams here in late 1980s-early 1990s. Were few and for few rounds, but were good to set a match to locals. |

Hope that GF Motorsport and Werner Competición, the top two Argentinian F. Renault teams, could be back in SudAm F3 one day.

It is pitty as the championship races in 3 countries (Brazil,Uraguay and Argentina) but unless some very few exceptions (Berta providing the Engines) the championship is run by brazilians Organisators received 20 brand new F309 Dallaras but unfortunatly most of them are still TBC, the organisation tries to bring some European drivers to South American F3, finger crossed we can see a decent grid at the first race at Brasilia |

I recall the old SudAm series had many years of top teams and upcoming drivers, but although it's obviously been done to help with costs is it really a good idea to run current Dallaras with a non standard engine, when the rest of the worlds F3 series all run available mainstream F3 motors?
Surely it would've been just as cost effective to do a deal to run VW's as there's a big presence for that make in South America. Vee-dub would've got plenty more miles and feedback on their engines into the bargain, which are still in early stages of their development. |

First race of the Season has been postponed to 05Th of June in the City of Brasilia.
Giving some more time to the teams to prepare the new F309-BertaF3Sudam Ford. RedBull also signed a 3 year deal with the organisation of the championship to offer to the best drivers a test in Europe. |
