Loeb Wins In Cyprus

That man has done it again - Loeb wins from Gronholm, Loeb just needs to finish in front of Gronholm next time out to take the title again (fourth is good enough for Loeb even if Gronholm wins).

Top ten:

1. S Loeb (Fr) Citroen Xsara 4hr 40min 50.4sec
2. M Gronholm (Fin) Ford Focus @ 21.2 secs
3. M Hirvonen (Fin) Ford Focus @ 5:16.1
4. M Stohl (Aut) Peugeot 307 @ 6:39.7
5. T Gardemeister (Fin) Citroen Xsara @ 8:40.4
6. X Pons (Sp) Citroen Xsara @ 10:05.9
7. H Solberg (Nor) Peugeot 307 @ 14:40.0
8. P Solberg (Nor) Subaru Impreza @ 15:21.5
9. C Atkinson (Aus) Subaru Impreza @ 17:15.0
10. M Wilson (GB) Ford Focus @ 25:21.0

It's getting to be Schumacheresque isn't it? I can't see it coming to an end any time soon either, at the moment only Gronholm seems capable of pushing Seb at all.

The thing is, he's so good, so consistent that even if he was given more competition than just Gronholm he'd prevail in the championship. I truly believe that.

We are witnessing a rallying god (albeit one in an age of two minute stages and loops).

Cyprus worked out much the same as Japan. Gronholm leading initially, Loeb edging up on him and then an error from Marcus.

Real shame for him, he's been a star this year IMO.

He's definately very good...but the severe lack of decent opposistion means I'm not sure we'll ever know how good. Solberg and Subaru have dropped of the map completely and that only leaves Gronholm.
Hardly heady WRC stuff.....there were times when you'd be looking at anyone of half a dozen or more drivers being competitive for the win....

Rallying is virtually dead as a world motorsport championship now, it's just a complete joke....not that the FIA or anyone else seems to care though......
