Adrian Fernandez fields team in IRL too,
from http://www.fernandezracing.net/English/index_e.html
Adrian announces that, joining forces with former F1 driver Aguri Suzuki's Super Aguri Co., they create the Super Aguri Fernandez Racing team. Toyota Atlantic driver Roger Yasukawa will drive Dallara Hondas. I think it's okay. As long as Adrian is still in CART, that is. |

Surprising. I would have bet the farm that Honda would have enticed Fernandez to run Nakano.

Me too. Question is, what is Nakano doing?

Looks like Honda has decided that Japanese-American Roger Yasukawa is a better fit. The support is coming from American Honda (Robert Clarke). Same for Panasonic. Kills two birds with one stone - young American and Japanese. I think it is a good move all around.
I would think that Shinji Nakano gets to retire to running a Honda team in the Japanese GT series, with an occaissonal run at Le Mans. Such is the normal progression for Japanese corporate drivers. |

I wonder why he's do that... On the surface I don't see any benifit to Fernadez.
How many cars is IRL running next year, 40? |

There are gonna be a bunch, the way things are going...Robin Miller reported that Fernandez had ordered four Dallaras. If true, that sounds like a two-car effort, maybe with Nakano...

He's keeping his ties to Honda open in case CART does not make it. I don't blame him at all.

I guess they will start capping the field at certain tracks , you simple cant have 40 cars racing at some of the places they go to , so they might cap it at 30 , guess we will have to wait and see

Teams that want to get into IRL's leadership Circle (or whatever Tony calls it) need to get their paper work in sometime this month. Twenty six spots is the limit. These teams get cash and other goodies for their participation.
Indy should be very good next year as well! |

Sometimes the best races are the ones just to make the show. Best example of this is the Chili Bowl midget show coming up in a few weeks. Three nights of heat and semi-feature racing to scale 150 entries down to 24 for the Main Event! If you folks across the ponds can get a feed of this show on ESPN2 I think it's a must see.
