Highside should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Anyone doing Toyo's @ Pembrey on July the 29th & 30th?

Hi All,

Firstly a quick introduction: My name is Rob, I live & work in Germany, I have an E30 M3, and for various bonkers reasons I won't go into, I am driving it all the way to Pembrey for the Toyo Tyres double header on the 29th and 30th of July. Just the matter of a 2000km round trip then - no worries .

Anyone else going to be there? I know Toyo's is suffering from small turnouts for races at the moment, but I heard rumours of various west-country racers bolstering the grids for the Pembrey round. Any truth in this?

Also - Anyone know if the paddock will be open on Friday night for me to pitch my tent in the dark ?

Cheers

Rob
Edited at request of Highside to change month to July

Whenever I've been to Pembrey, you can always access the paddock on the evening before the race.

Don't forget that you'll need some real cash for the Severn Bridge into Wales (no credit card payments)!

Cheers Dan,

A relief regarding the Paddock, and a good reminder about the bridge. How much do they charge nowadays?

And you only pay to to get in, its free coming out as they want rid of us:-)

Good luck in the old championship I co-founded many years ago and its a big shame the numbers are down. From what I have heard I have a feeling that things will improve next season though and may even see me make the odd appearance in the IROC.

Cheers Stig,

If you see kackered looking bloke with a near-standard blue German Registered E30 M3 turn up on Friday, pop over and introduce yourself, and I'll buy you a beer if you can give me some local hints on which way the tack goes...

Are you running in the Welsh Sports and Saloons C'ship?

Cheers

Rob

Hi Al,

Yeah, I think things are on the up with the proposed merger etc, and I'm pretty sure the grids will be back to something respectible next year. I heard Greg is putting together some composite rules to discuss next weekend, so I guess we will know more then.

To be honest, it probably would have been easier for me to enter a different championship (southern saloons etc), but I have been watching Toyos (nee' Falkons - including watching a memorable race with I think you in it at Snetterton 12+ years ago!) since I was a teenager, and spannering / pushing / picking up bits of con-rod for various friends & family in the championship for the last six, so I felt I owed it to the C'ship to show my support now I have a car that is eligable...

...Hence me going across five countries just to do my first race!

I'll be there.

Unfortunately most of the Toyo crowd don't do the internet so you won't see many responses!

I was at the first meeting ever at Pembrey in my Camaro in the ModProds and even have a little plaque to commemorate the occassion, good little track as it happens and surprisingly good for Camaros. Had a great couple of races there last year in the Pre 74's.
