Aslak Vind should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Kasper Andersen has left Formula Masters and Trident Racing, and has now been testing the Astromega/Team Anderlecht car yesterday.

Unfortunately, the car burned pretty badly today, while another driver was in the car. So no running for team in thisn session. Kinda sad, as Kasper now know both track and car..

I am curious to see, how stable the Menard V12 engine will be during the season. But it gives me goosebumps to hear a V12 in a formula car again, now we only need a decent standard of drivers not to deflate the series.

Todays times from Vallelunga:

Pos Driver Team Time
1. Robert Doornbos AC Milan 1:23.184
2. Davide Rigon Borussia Dortmund 1:23.192
3. Enrico Toccacelo AS Roma 1:23.474
4. Alessandro Pier Guidi Galatasaray 1:23.475
5. Tuka Rocha Flamengo 1:24.950
6. Daniel la Rosa Olympiacos 1:25.306
7. Max Wissel FC Basel 1:25.849
8. Nico Verdonck Anderlecht 1:26.034

(Autosport)

Team West-Tec ran a couple of laps with an unlivered testcar, with Ryan Dalziel in the tub. They are expected to run again tomorrow in preparation for the Glasgow Rangers and FC Porto effort. Tristan Gommendy and Robbie Kerr are expected to drive tomorrow. As I mentioned earlier, the Anderlecht car is destroyed due to a fire, caused by a loose fuelline.

The FC Basel car crashed this morning, Max Wissel was the driver. A new frontving and suspension has been fitted. The Superleague teams has been fighting new car issues. Oil leaks, and drivers complaining about the seating position.

Superleague might redesign the steering column ahead of the first race to move the wheel further away from the drivers.

Many thanks for this weblink.
It sounds that Ryan is very enthusiastic about the series and especially that he can drive the car for his favourite hometown football club Glasgow Rangers.

I read speculation somewhere that a Spanish TV company would be host broadcaster. Jonathan Green lined up as English Language Commentator.

the sniper has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
When your star drivers are Enrico Toccacelo and Robert Doornbos, you can't be taken seriously. I have a feeling that every race will be won by Doornbos, while half the grid fall of the track or crash into each other...

In the good old days, single seater rejects ended up making a career in Touring or Sports cars, now they prop up these Mickey Mouse championships (i.e. Superleague, IFM, A1GP) that mean nothing.

I look forward to this series failing, hopefully in the near future. Until then I hope top quality drivers like Carlos Iaconelli, Giacomo Ricci and Paolo Nocera get into this series and waste more of daddy's money, then decide motor racing is not for them (if were lucky).

OK, rant over

Your wish has been (partly for now) fulfilled, testing in Donington has been canceled says sportmotores. You now have two more wishes, choose your next ones carefully

Coincidence? I think not.

And now for my next trick, I will make BCN Competition disappear ... oops, too late

Not good news at all if you consider not all the teams ran at Vallelunga last week and presumably plenty of potential drivers have yet to test.

Superleague Formula and A1GP are series generated with money which is not taken away from other series. A1GP in particular is increasing interest in car racing in countries with little tradition in motorsports. Year after year the series gets stronger which is good for all of us.
Superleague is an old concept which you will have to judge after 2 seasons and not now. It will also introduce new people (football fans) to motorsports.
Again nothing wrong with that.
I wish all the best to both of them.
