Given Tasmans form of late 2005, i think Jones could be one of the suprise performers of 2006.

Good news. Hope he goes well next yr. Funny I had my pic taken with AJ at the Clipsal this year - the bloke that took the photo asked me afterwards who he was. I replied he's the current champion. That just drew another blank look..

Yeah a real nice bloke, and seems to be pretty focused.

I admire him for taking his own career path instead of bludging a drive of his familys team, like a certain Qld driver could be accused of at times....

Tasman seem to be specialising in GRM outcasts.

Good on Andrew, he deserves a good team, which Tasman are/have become.

I have some doubts... why would tasman let Fabian go (who has genuine pace in the main series), and pick up someone who has yet to have made any impact.

Well Jones has had a whole year in the Main Series and Coultard has only done enduros so how can u say that when he finished 4th at Bathurst and won the 2004 development series.

Fabian also competed in Round 8 during 2004... in which he came from the back of the grid in race 2, to finish 19th. Not only that but the 2004 enduros where he was competitive, and 2 seasons in Carerra Cup. Lets just see how it pans out, but while i would prefer to put my money on a Harrop/Tasman car than a PMM... A Tasman/Jones combo sounds alot less competitive than a PMM/Coulthard combo.

It's a positive decision but who else thinks they could have looked harder maybe... I mean further abroad and outside the V8s. Why not try for at least a "next Tander or Murphy"?

But Macrow finished third at Bathurst, and Youlden finished third at Bathurst a few years back, with only 4 cars on the lead lap this... not very informative result? The development series is by all means a mixed bag that's not very informative either.

Anyway, let's see how he goes.

By signing Jones, Dodo should look at maybe sponsoring the Safety Car cause he seems to bring them out a bit just ask uncle Brad

Andy is a good driver, just needs to be familar to the pro championship, give him a few years and he might get #1 on his door or win Bathurst

Whilst I don't think he'll be Number One anytime soon, he will certainly show that he has some speed in 06 compared to 05.

Mind you with the current points system , you don't have to be the quickest driver to win now do you?

I think the number 1 is going to be stuck pretty firmly to young Courtney's car for quite a while.......

Another year under his belt with the top engineers at Tasman should get some better results, the car will be good so there will be no excuse. Good luck to the boy as Bert Newton says.
