Slowcoach should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Silverstone - 13th March

So with only 11 days to go some of you must have entered ? Or are you just not ready yet? I may go but only as a spectator as my more sensible half is off to Dublin partying. Still silver lining is that Slowcoach junior (7 months) may be about to sample his first motor racing event - good to start him early...........

Stephanie, my wife, has been in hospital, so I've held my entry back. She came home last night and the nurse who popped in today said that Steph is doing ok, so, I'll pop the entry in the post tomorrow although it may be withdrawn if the missus is not up-and-about by the weekend.

Sorry to hear that Mrs Carrera has been unwell - hope she's better soon (and not just so u can race at Silverstone!) You'd be better to hold it back altogether. If you have a word with Claire she is normally very helpful about last minute entries and that'll save the bother of posting it now and then needing to retract it next week. I believe officially you can enter up until the Wednesday before the race but unofficially you can often leave it later as they want as many entries as possible. Once a couple of years ago I phoned them on the Friday and gave them a cheque on raceday, although I don't think you'll get away with that now.

Well I would have been there; but my new entrant for Grp1 Touring Cars (class D) is being held up due to not knowing what engine electrics that I can run. It means I'll miss the first round but I aim to be out for the second.

They've split it up rather than dropped the tag. Classic Clubmans, and Classic FF2000/1600, now race on different dates, in general.

I'm supposed to be doing a Jaguar race on the Nat circuit but my car is still in 2 different counties at the moment and won't be ready. If I talk nicely to my uncle I may get a race in his Mk1 Escort though on the Stowe track

I'm supposed to be there, but I won't be running a car - not had time to sort it all out for this season yet.

I notice from the BARC dates that the MGOC seems to be running with the classic package a lot more this year.

The livery has arrived, just needs slapping onto the side of the car. As with most car-builds everything is left to the last minute and will be done the night before the first race.

Anyone know what time the first race / practice is?

I'm going judging by todays weather it could be a bit cold, i dont want to be there an hour early.

Will the grandstands be open?

Not 100% sure what time things get undeway tomorrow but I do know that there are 180 entries scheduled for the nine-race programme.

And watch out for Adrian Newey (yes, the McLaren one!) and Tony Jardine driving in D-Type Jaguars.

These are the new-build D-Types from E-Type components, but they look pretty all the same. Five of them arrived in Silverstone last night on one transporter along with a rather lovely Lynx C-Type.

The real fun is the snow that is currently covering Silverstone to the strength of about five inches. It is melting quickly though and all the roads are passable. I don't imagine there will be a problem with running the event, but it's going to be mighty cold - and we've had snow at the SUNBAC before!

I'll be there but will be running the bookshop in the units behind Woodcote until racing starts. Anyone who wishes to thaw out is most welcome to pop by and say hi!

Just phoned them... practice starts at 9.00 races start at 1.30
