Jacques Villeneuve at Le Mans ?

This could be the greatest new : if you have seen the David Legangneux entry list, Jacques Villeneuve could be a pilot in Johansson Audi...

Remember : who won F1 championship, Indianapolis and Le Mans ? Only the gentleman farmer, Graham Hill...

Who alive could be concern by this performance ? Jacques Villeneuve ! He won F1 and Indy before ; missing : Le Mans !

Even Schumacher didn't win Indy, and the colombian has not win F1 yet...

Who bets ? He's not in the best car, but it could come in the next years...

If things are rocky with BAR then there is a distinct possibility.

I just wish more F1 drivers would race at Le Mans like they used to.

But its down to the teams nowadays and F1 drivers tend to stick to F1.

But with the works Audis, even Villenuve would find it hard to beat Biela, Pirro and Kritsensen. If he does drive, good luck to him.

It takes more than one good driver to win Le Mans. Now who would be a good co driver ??

Jean Alaisi with maybe D Bell or JJ Lehto?? Perhaps Brundel and Blundell, McNish and Wallace ??

id rather see f1 take a back seat to lemans/sports car racing than have f1 drivers come to lemans. but, thatll never happen

It would be great to see Jacques at Le Mans. Might make a few people sit up and take notice of the fact that there is a great deal more to motor racing than the tedium which currently masquerades under the banner "Formula 1".

I agree it would raise a bit more interest in the world outside F1, (but hopefully not Bernie's). However I can't see JW as a successful sportscar driver. Has he got the patience to drive sensibly for 8 hours, to nurse home a poorly car? There is more to sportscars than a 2 hour (max) sprint.

Don't forget this is the man who totals his F1 car by trying to drive Eau Rouge flat out. Then gets his team mate to do the same!

I thought Jim Clark was the gentleman farmer. Was Hill one too?

For what I know Graham Hill worked, before going professional, at Smiths (the automotive instruments manufacturer).

It's just a nick name...

The gentleman farmer... just a nickname me and a friend love to give to Graham Hill...

I don't think he ever was a farmer... but Henri Pescarolo is one ! He's got a splendid farm in Seine et Marne...

And Jim Clark never won Le Mans... best result : third in 1960, with Salvadori, on a Aston Martin DBR1 2992...
