Hamish Weir should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Formula BMW.

Does anybody know anything about the proposed plans for the Formula BMW series coming to the UK?

BMW decided in September last year that they would not be introducing it in 2003, and decided to shift their focus back to their ETCC programme. A decision has not yet been taken on a UK series.
