monaro_gto should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
1st trip to Road America

Bought my ticket so will be track side for race day only. Flying into ORD early morning, renting a car and heading up to the track. Can you drive from turn to turn up there or do you park it and leave it? What are some of the better vantage points? lastly what is the food like at the track and are there any restrictions on coolers etc?

Thanks in advance for any help.

any pointers would be appreciated. Really just like to know best photography points and if you have to park the car or you can drive around like you can at Road Atlanta

You can drive to most places at RA. Just not around the back of 10 and 11 I think. It's a big enough place you'd want to drive, or bike.

Watch out for the poison ivy at Canada Corner. Stay on the path!

You can drive almost anywhere, except where Keke mentioned. It's a pretty wooded and hilly area, so plenty of pretty cool vantage points to get good pictures from. Turn 5 where they come down the hill is a pretty awesome place to get pics from, especially when you're standing next to the fence on either side. Turn 1, or Canada Corner are most awesome places. The food at Road America was good the years I went (2002 - 2008), especially the brats(delicious). Coolers are totally fine; it always seemed to get incredibly hot every year I went, so plenty of drinks is key.

Make sure you go into town at night, especially making a stop at Siebkens bar, where if you're lucky you may see a few drivers at while there. http://www.siebkens.com/tavern.html

Overall you should have a pretty sweet experience there. RA is a great track, with plenty of viewing spots and food stands. Oh, and there's plenty of merchandise tents as well, which is always great. Try out the karting track if you can too while there.

TWO VERY IMPORTANT THINGS NOT TO FORGET TO CONSUME WHILE THERE...

1. Brats

2. Corn on the cob.
