I understand after reading the note that the new Hypercar is much slower than the LMP1. The Alpine is still an LMP1 so if the ACO doesn't slow it down enough they will have an advantage.
Kamui Kobayashi said "We lost a lot of laptime [compared to the LMP1]".

And you do have to remember that a goal of Hypercar and LMDH is to slow the top class cars at LM by several seconds at least a lap around Le Mans. Other that ballasting up the Alpine Rebellion and maybe taking away some power, how do you balance LMP1 and LMH?

Remember, LMH/LMDH weighs a minimum of 1030kg (which I still think is a bit excessive), while the Rebellion needed ballast to meet 835kgs.

The R13 is an optimized Oreca 07. By downgrading the engine to the LMP2 version of the Gibson, they should slowdown the car by a couple of spec. Than with a bit of weight, it should be manageable to reduce the performance and match the performance ce windows of the GR010

WRT surely have an eye on an Audi in LMDh. It will be interesting to see how Kelvin vdL goes in a prototype in the Asian LM Series...

25 cars currently by my count, Glickenhaus will be missing from Sebring, but that event looks unlikely anyway.

Sounds like we are due double digits in P2, Proton havent declared their hand yet, Dalla Lana hasnt either, so we could well see 28-30 cars total for the season.

..in my opinion Rebellion got the chance last year..a chance that can be compared with 2005 Audi Vs Pescarolo.
At last year s LM the Rebellion could go toe to toe with Toyota(toyota was surprised/shocked by seeing the first 10 laps) until the first stint, then for undisclosed reasons they fell behind big time.

can someone tell me if this year the the Porsche Am cars will be running with a side pipe or the exhaust in the rear???
I do think GTE Pro switched back to the rear...but Am cars are one generation behind...or am I wrong?

That's a crazy race situation - with the car rolling out for testing next month with literally nowhere to race for over a year.

Hopefully they can work something out.

Given ByKolles' incompetence at completing a season and dubious communications track record and the ACO/FIA's aversion to pragmatism with privateers, the fault for this ridiculous situation is probably shared between both sides equally.

Hope they can work something out too, but there's a lot of stubborn figures involved here.

I can agree that ACO and FIA killed private lmp1 in last 10 years, or to better say it basically made it available only to private teams backed by billionaires, but seriously kolles is a joke from any point of view...
