That seems excessive although I found estimates ranging from £5 to £17K. It may be worth getting a quote from some of the healthcare providers.

Average cost here c 24k € which is less expensive that what you have to pay for a dog male or female at Singapore or Hong Kong. At 85 dont expect anyone will put your file on top of the priority list. Since Covid here, not much is done for patients above 60 (hôpital public).

I had a look for you and Paris area apart - Hôpital Bichat and Pitié Salpetrière - it seems that CHU of Rouen has good reports together with some private Ramsay Santé private cliniques. Maybe worth an email?
