There were so many comments to respond to that. Partial to the maybe but that one didn't have hot dog buns in the rear quarter window so not as cool He did not demonstrate so I'm gonna say no, no his doesn't work either

I don't mind the color, she looks crazy. As to the rear brakes it has never been the good side of the E (in-board taking the heat from the Dif).

This c1968/9 Chrysler Valiant Regal (I think a VE) was parked next to me at the Supermarket today. Beautiful nick and registered as a daily driver (ie Its not on limited use club plates, rather the full price standard registration) which is good to see.
This was from the days when Chrysler set up full local manufacturing in Aus, as Chrysler Australia. (Also set up an engine plant) The Regal was I think based on the US Dodge Dart and Plymouth Valiant but with lots of Aus local design tweaks and content from local suppliers. Chrysler Aus became one of the top 3 brands locally (with Ford and Holden)They made 70,000 VE's between 1968-70 before the VF replaced it It also came in 4 door as above, 2door coupe, 5 door (Safari Station Wagon) and Ute form (The Ute was branded Dodge) and the Valiant Regal VIP with all the trimmings, vinyl roof etc plus the optional 4.5 litre V8 as standard. Basic engine was a 3.7 litre slant 6. |

Did not sadly but I think it was an early 4000 or 400s maybe (Audi 80 or 90 I think for the rest of you) but didn't look quite right. Almost like they put some older Quattro bits on it

I love the XK engine but an E Type with a powerful and reliable V8 why not. Easier to have track days without headaches. Remains the choice of a convenient gearbox something Jag didn't mind to much…

A nice Getrag 5 speed does wonders for it.
As with on the XJS it was never the diff warming the brakes that I worry about, it is more the brakes warming the diff and cooking the seals. A worry for a race car more than a road one. |

Correct. For track use I've never been a great fan of the in-board brakes and it was the main concern we had when we went from the 105 series to the Alfetta which otherwise was almost perfect in term of chassis balance.

The later XJS had outboard and we fitted those to an earlier car for that reason.
