Then he could do with getting past Di Grassi on track because the #7 won't be winning the title otherwise.

Minassian turning Calado around, puts an early end to the 42/43/44 swap shop.

Edit: #17 back on track. Time for fireworks Timo.

9 minutes on pit lane later, and 4 laps down to the leader, #17 is resurrected and rejoins the battle. 5 hours 20 to go. let's see where it ends up, goal post surely is 4th position overall or better, including team orders.

If the 18 can't win or otherwise take points of the 7 it will let the 17 by one way or another - even if it has to be parked in the pits for a few laps

Porsche having reliability issues in the 6h races this year. At Le Mans they had a trouble free race with all their cars. If this isn't luck, what would it be?

well, the #17 needs to properly overtake at least one P1, no matter which sort of disgusting team shenanigans the pit is playing with the #18. With these laps down, even catching one of the toyota's is a challenge.

Just thought to myself, wouldn't it be funny if Webber again fails to become champion in a dominant car? Heh..

I still think the Porsche guys will be champions. Still a long way to go.

indeed, but for comparison, even if they have 3 secs per lap (which they have now, but not on average yet) on the last toyota, it'll be 30+ laps to get a lap back. 30+ laps is roundabout an hour. They're four laps down. We have five hours to go. You would expect them to have overtaken the toyotas with some 30 minutes to go. ...If nothing happens.

Omg, Lotterer just made the fastest lap of the race

Fassler was really slow on that stint. I thought maybe the old engine on the #7 was holding him back but no, I have to criticize the Swiss again, sorry.

Is it just me or does attendance look a little off?
Why is that for the finale?

Last retirement of the R18 was two years ago, exactly in this track.

attendance has always been inexistent in Bahrain

Looking into the timing, #17 is not 3s/lap faster than the last Toyota but less than half of that, actually.

Tittle looks much more on the #7 crew's hands, imo

You're right of course, what oversight. Not that the #18 looks faster than the Audis atm...

It doesn't look like the #17 can keep up the necessary average benefit over the Toyotas at the moment.

Good question. Maybe who got more pole positions?

It's race results that count first in the case of a tie.

Number of race wins?

4 for #17, 3 for #7 (if they win)

Yeah Gert, the #17 would take the title because it has more wins.

Three laps to make up to the Toyotas, just shy of 4 1/2 hours to do it.

Edit: Audi a couple of seconds quicker in the pits again...
