I was really enjoying this race until this never ending, IMSA-style, pass around nonsense safety car period.
The safety car should stay out for as long as it is needed to clear the incident and the pit lane should never be closed. Take your chances.

Stupid pit lane rule.

All except 22 have been massively disadvantaged.
41 for exemple could only take a tiny amount of fuel, had to stop at red light so it will be last, and now has to do a full fuel stop under green.

The race was fun until now.

Stupid rule.


I really hope they now punish all the cars that overtook the 26 that ran out of fuel.
About 10 or 15?


That was very very poorly handled by race control today IMO.

That was farcical. Dare I say it, SRO-esque?

Has to be said though, the top 4/5 in LMP2 all could have pitted when the #22 did, just before the safety car. The gamble (pun unintended) paid off for United.

Edit - Seems like Panis Racing also took the plunge and are now in 2nd overall.

IMO this was the most poorly handled ACO race I have seen in a while.

Let's not be dramatic about it. Canal is right there, and the driver matchup goes in favour of the #65 when both of the current drivers switch out. There's still a race on.

Just to compound G-Drive's awful day - 10 second stop/go for the #26...

Something with the SC procedure. But what exactly?

Did he leave to big a gap? Then again 92 did that too, against 26.

Palmer mentioned "several violations" from race control regarding the SC procedure. It almost seemed like race control expected the leading LMP2s to all pit, and were caught on the hop when Rusinov stayed out and passed the SC.

The other one would be for running out of fuel when the SC pulled in, that could be deemed as not properly restarting the race.

Before you say that's stupid, I fully agree.

Edit - Rusinov has just said that they had an error in their fuel management, the wrong numbers were shown and he didn't realise the car was out of fuel until cutouts on the restarting lap.

Edit edit - G-Drive's day gets better and better. Team manager called for the #25 pushing its sister car into the pits...

#24 I think, the non-G-Drive one.
If did they did that, ACO have just caused that kind of thing by themselves.

Those two incidents weren't so different. Maybe race control didn't want enjoy that SC period either.

All part of the ACO's master plan to get us all watching on French-hosted Dailymotion.

Despite the stream's issues, Stevens (the worst current Platinum driver?) is being slowly caught by Gamble, taking traffic into account.

At Le Castellet, Gamble blew his load somewhat and he was comfortably held off by the #26. Let's see if he's learned his lesson.

You're welcome. You don't need an account to watch the video (I don't have one), but if you prefer not to use Facebook at all - which is honestly the right thing to do - then there aren't any other options.

It's a shame too, Monza has given a good race so far.

Well, allow me to give you some news:

#6 & #4 collide into Lesmo 1, Gamble right behind has to take to the gravel to avoid them but rejoins. However, the time lost has kept the #65 ahead.

FCY to recover the #6.
