No, no, fascinating stuff, actually. It reminds me of when I used to do some writing on sportscars in Word and the spell-checker used to come up with some corkers for drivers' surnames - I remember Derek Warlock amusing me..... |

I once read that in Italian Mazzacance (as in brick slow Argentinian Gaston who raced for Minardi in 2000) translates as "kill the dog". Hmm....

In Spanish, Firman means "they sign".
Fisichella's nickname (Fisico) can be translated as "Physic" Former F1 driver Roberto Moreno can be translated as "Robert, the dark-colored" or something like that. And we can't forget about Damon, Graham and Phil Colina. And former F1 commentator Murray Caminante. We could also add "Ayrton has dinner", although that should be Ayrton Cena, but it sounds the same. Last edited by rodrigomarban; 16 Sep 2003 at 01:38. |

Oh, and I forgot that Williams technical director Patrick Head would be "Patricio Cabeza".
Interlagos means "Between lakes" From when I had German classes I remember I heard that Sauber means "clean". Spanish former F1 driver Adrián Campos can be translated as "Adrian Fields" Belgian driver Paul Frere, who raced in 1952 can be translated as "Paul Brother" from French. Colombian Roberto Guerrero, who raced F1 in 1981 means "Robert, the Warrior" in Spanish. Argentinean Jesús Iglesias, who drove in 1955 can be translated as "Jesus Churches" from Spanish. If I'm not mistaken Riccardo Paletti means "Richard Small poles" in Italian. Spanish Luis Pérez Sala can be translated as "Louis Perez Living-room" ___ As a curious note, South African Paddy Driver, who drove one GP in 1968 was the only driver whose name was also his profession. |

Well, actually in the Grand Prix Management game you mention, they used the name JOHN NEWHOUSE, which is still wrong anyway. :-)
