cant help but wonder if the ZB body did not fit well with the current chassis and as result a fair bit of work had to be done which made it worthwhile to start afresh

I suspect also the healthy Super 2 market helps that decision. Less time consuming to build a new one

Mr Dane said some time ago that VF to ZB was not a straightforward job, needing to build different shapes into the rear of the car for external paneling and firewalls and the like.

I was told years ago. Bunnings won't do naming rights sponsorship to sports teams in any code. They want to remain neutral and not seen to be taking sides.

It's understood that the work involved in unpicking VF-specific parts, and fitting ZB parts is similar to building a new chassis from scratch, with the ZB in mind.

Unless you need a spare in the stable, or have a market for the old ones, you might as well just update the existing one.

you mean the big launch due on 31 Jan. Nope nothing

Article on supercars site suggesting there had been a bit of a bottle neck in the production process of panels.

Not sure if that's relevant or just coincidence

Is this the case, or an urban myth that refuses to die? Bit like with 888 front ends, Walkinshaw engines, you want the current spec then that will cost more then the old spec. Unless the sponsor group on car #78 is paying far more than those on the other cars in the team, you wouldn't expect the rookie to get the brand spanker.
