Saturday sign-on: from 8:00am
Marshal's Briefing: 8:30am
Meeting starts 9:00am

Sunday sign-on: from 8:00am
Marshal's Briefing: 9:00am
Meeting starts: 9:30am

Sandwiches, Soup and Drinks (Hot/Cold) will be available during the lunch-break in the marshal's signing-on hut.

There will be a Marshals draw at the end of the day so make sure you are given your ticket and money (£5!!) when you sign-on.

Signing-on takes place in the large hut near Triangle. Just follow the signs for Officials parking or ask any orange bod !!
If you have to pay to get in, as you have no passes, this will be refunded if you turn-up early enough to marshal.

any more questions, pm me or call the Chief Marshal, Pete Hempson, on: 01952 620381.

See you there !!

You've spent too much time at Prescott!! We still use phones at Loton !!

But at least you won't have to put up with me as I've answered a plea from a driver and so will be spannering at Barbon and Harewood!

AND.....do I detect an anti Prescott bias in your posts of late? Perhaps too much mixing it in the percieved BIG time eh? Rubbing shoulders with the wealthy and famous is one thing but never forget your roots...there`s plenty of people who enjoyed themselves last weekend at Prescott and they will do the same at Loton and Shelsley throughout the season....will you be one of them?

Would just like to say I enjoyed it enormously. The variety of cars was excellent and the location was stunning. Anyone who has thought of doing a speed event should try Loton.

OK then, some answers:
Do I?......... NO !!! (just read my other posts)

BIG time eh??? tents on the side of mountains in force 10 gales!!!!!!

Wealthy and Famous? do you know something I don't???

Roots? can you remember yours?????

Will I be there???? When the dates came out, as usual, I entered the Midland Hillclimb dates first! I fully intended to attend them all as per usual. But when a very good friend is about to attend two new venues alone, in two days as a driver of a single-seater, one starts to question one's loyalties. Who needed my services the most?

As to the rest of the season, well who knows????

Will I now be welcome as the Assistant Clerk of Course/ Rescue Member/ part-time I/O (speed events only), and the person who used to turn to me for advice as to "how-to-run-a-post" starts to question my abilities?

I've thought long and hard about posting this response and apologise now to anyone that thinks that it may be wrong. It's just that if I get attacked in public (as I feel has happened) then I feel that I have the right to one post to defend myself.

Glad you enjoyed it Neil, just sorry I wasn't there myself but you can't be everywhere!

But MrsCrazyStu was there (wearing her new Ten-Tenths patch) and thinks that you were on Post 1. Was that you or not?
If not, she is most hurt that you did not introduce yourself That is exactly why she wears the patch, so other ten-tenthers can recognise her. (she ran Post 7 by the way).

But anyway, now you've tasted Hillclimbing, can we look forward to your company again???

I was on Post 4 on Saturday and yes, Post 1 on Sunday. I tend to be a bit reserved when I first go to a new venue, so it was nothing personal

I had already volunteered for some more meetings there, along with Shelsley and have since added a couple more. This won't be a flash-in-the-pan, I genuinely thought the track was fantastic, if a little narrow and the setting in the park is a wonderful place to marshal.

Stu, as you know from my pm to you, I have not and never would question your abilities, if you still feel that then I apologise, as I explained I was referring to the possibility of you doing a bit more spannering for the said driver...him asking you is a testament to your abilities...if you got the chance why not? Fair point though from what I have read and heard it was like going to the far end of the earth with little or no facilities and next to no time to stop and breath. Why not post some of the details of your weekend for others to read...it would provide an interesting insight to the "other side" of motor racing and also give an indication of precisely why we enjoy the friendly relationship between drivers and marshals in hillclimbing.

I say! I wouldn't go that far just stick me in a quiet corner out of the way!

I will be there for the 21st June.

I'm having a bit of a run on sprints and hillclimbs, I'm at Curborough this Sat/Sun, Shelsley on June 7th and back at Curborough on June 8th.
