I'm a real fan of Drifting, I'd love to find some time to watch the UK D1 events at Silverstone.

hi all, i'm a definite rookie in this scene.

my dads friends have rallied, tracked, etc. and now i've got together with a couple of mates adn are planning to buy a couple of fiat x1/9's. one's a pranged parts car with the running gear, the others a body with an Arbath fibeglass kit... i hope it all works out ok!

its gonna be a lot of work, but after seeing such a dedicated track forum like this on the net, its boosted my confidence a bit.

thanks guys, listen out for all of my questions on how to go about doing stuff!!

catch, Dave

Mayhem in a Mk3 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Hi, I'm Mark, I've never done a trackday yet, but I've been interested in them for a few years. I'm mainly interested in older cars, I've got an '85 Escort Cabriolet on the drive at the moment, but I don't know wether to get an XR4x4 to use on the track. I'm just getting all the generic things I'll need (seats, harnesses etc) and then I'll get the car sorted in March. To be honest I don't know how good I'll be at this game coz the missus says that I drive like Miss Daisy usually!!

Hi, I'm Jim. Lapsed Marshal, Rescue Crew & MSA Instructor.

Due to work and family committments I've done very little in the last two Years. Having previously driven the majority of the UK Circuits in a VAN! (Rescue Vehicle)and attended a fair few track Days as part of the Safety Crew with 'Wheeltorque'.

I have wonderful memories of visiting some fantastic Tracks across Europe. Spa, the 'Ring'(Nordschliefe), Dijon, Mas Du Clos, Issoire, Clermont Ferrand to name a selection. The experience of driving round these tracks, even in Course/Safety cars is totally unforgettable.

Have been pondering the Idea of a Track Day car for some time now and thougts about taking the plunge this Year, with a 205 Pug or Astra GTE.

Have previously done stupid things on Rallies with various Escort and Fiesta setups so I think I know where I'm going and Initial setup will be Safety kit then Suspension and brakes to get the handling sorted, before any power mods.

Also visiting the States this year and the Richard Petty experience is already booked! Can't wait!

Regards, to you all, stay safe out there.....

MBL205 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid

Hello All,

I'm Mark from Nottingham. I have a 1988 205 Gti 'work in progress' car. Currently running an Mi16 engine and steering & suspension from a 309 Gti. It's my commute to work (not ideal after the Group A rear suspension mounts, polyrace wishbone bushes & SBC springs!), fun & occasional track day car. It goes fairly well for an old French hatchback I guess.

I'm hopefully off to Donington on the 27th February for it's first outing this year. I'm looking forward to trying out the new suspension set up after having a torrid year in 2004 changing rear beams!

Cheers.

Hi everyone & anyone

I'm Dickie from Berkhamsted in Hertfordshire. New to the whole thing of circuit driving although have always been a bit of a petrolhead. Have an Ariel Atom 2 and a Triumph Daytona 600. I'm looking at getting involved in trackdays, initially on 'safe' circuits until I've developed the skills. Look forward to learning from the experienced folk among you.

Hey Everyone.

Thought I'd join up.
I'm a student (waits for the groans!) But I have been racing in karts since I was 8 and moved to cars at 16 and have raced in British GT's, T Cars, Formula Ford, Formula Vee, Radicals, basically I'll drive anything!

I also do a fair amount of trackday tuition.

As for Cars. I have a MK2 Golf 8v digi which I use for the road. I have also got a MK2 8v KJet which I use for Track Days. Its not had that much engine work done but its just for fun really and it gives my housemates and I something to do instead of going to lectures!

Hi

i've gotten the bug for track days via spectating then actually wanting to do it myself, i've done the brands hatch trackmaster and a novice track day at brands this march, which was fantastic, loads of laps!

my car is just my normal road car,
peugeot 306 1.8, 100bhp

no modifications except a sport exhaust (previous owner) i think it handles well, very flat, i could manage surtees flat at 70mph

im doing another one at brands on the 12th july, planning to get a camera mounted in the car so will share the vids here

i want to do as many tracks as possible in the future, brands gp and donington for sure

Hi guys,

Some nice cars above! I didn’t see there was a track day forum on here, seems quite a few of you attend them.

I am a professional racing driver and instructor and can offer any of you or your friends one to one tuition at most UK and European circuits. I do the instruction in between my main focus this year, which is the FIA GT championship, in GT2.

More can be found on my website http://www.seanedwards.eu/index.php?...ntent&catid=10 and there is also a long list of testimonials from previous clients on there.

Welcome to the forum, vxr. I bet the beemer was fun Sounds like you go to some decent places too, do you prefer the 'proper' tracks?

I can't help you on your car (I've tracked quite different cars: E-Type, XJS, MGB, SLK200, CL600, that one not that seriously unfortunately, and a Golf GTi (for ARDS)).

Has the Corsa been on track yet? Did the brakes hold up?

Well I will be making my first trip to the track in a month or two. Still haven't picked the final date yet, as a group of us are going. I'm really looking forward to it and hope it will be something that I can make a regular occurance. Oh, and this will be of the two-wheeled variety.

I will be riding my '05 Suzuki GSX-R1000.

I've made a few posts now so I suppose I'd best introduce myself

I'm a newbie to track related driving- I've made many a passenger ride many a time in the past though, with a friend who used to track his various hondas.

I won't be doing track days as such, but sprinting through a track day company in a small 5 event championship this year.

My weapon of choice is my old celica, by no means a racer but I aim to have a much fun as possible
