If the Polos are anything like the Clio cup then it should be good fun - a whole pack of evenly matched cars arriving at Paddock Hill Bend for the first time should be interesting! Moreso because none of them will know the circuit that well.

I hate having to write reports in the rain...
So lets be having none of this "fun" at the bottom of paddock please.

I will be there, hopefully somewhere close to Mr Bodysnatcher and his merry crew.

Hmmm Polo's at Paddock, could be interesting (or a nightmare)

As many as 27 Polos, and seemingly none with experience of Brands !!

Thundery showers indeed predicted as of now. Still a little far from Sunday to be that reliable a forecast though. I thought thundery showers usually build up through a humid day, so maybe the DTM might get away with it being an early-ish race.

Maybe after 2 dry sessions of practice those polo drivers might get a wet Paddock Hill Bend to test them in their race though !!

Please keep this one on topic! I'm looking forward to my day in the rain tomorrow!

I hope that Timo Scheider can take his Pole-Position into a Race-Victory. Ekström just on P7. It would be very hard for him. Schneider and Kristensen out at Q2. Bad performance !!!

Weather forecasts look to have been right. High potential for a wet race this afternoon! (I have mixed emotions)

Bad for Spectators at the Track. Good for Spectators at the TV (like me). Hope it would be a great Race. This Season needs a few good Races.

The Race was good (better than the most DTM-Races 2008). Now I hope that Timo Scheider will be the DTM-Champ 2008.

You bet. Judging by some of the MSV advertising you'd be forgiven for thinking that Lewis was the headline event with a few Germans doing some demo laps. Just read on another forum that the queue for Lewis' 11am autograph session started forming at 7.30.

That's probably right - when I got there about 8.30 the queue was already massive. Certainly busier than last year and most probably due to hamilton.

But yes, the real strength of DTM is it's self promotion. A LOT of series would do them selves a lot of good if they picked up a few ideas from them.

Thank you Mr Picky

Anyhow, nevermind the DTM what about the real story of the meeting. What happened in the Polo Cup? I heard at least one car was testing the limits of the Paddock Hill gravel on Saturday. Was it the chaos we predicted?

I really dont like that track!

Why cant we race on the full Brands Hatch track, instead of the slotcarlike Indy track. No overtaking, and few alternate lines.

Guys, I have been covering VW Polo Cup broadcasts for the last three years, as part of the DMS DTM package. trust me, It IS something to be excited about!

I have seen Polos fly, I have seen them on one wheel and I have seen one do a full 360 somersault.

But yes, you HAVE to pay attention. Thats the bad part..

Actually I by far prefer the Indy circuit over the GP track. Better racing, closer action, more fun. I mean, its not like the GP loop has a lot of overtaking opportunities.

Agreed, but it cant be worse than the Trulli train we witnessed today?

It's not like its unique to Brands is it? The whole DTM is the joke, not Brands Indy. Which is actually why I didn't even witness it
