Amateur hour at EMS. Running a Commodore ( Will Brown ), using Tickford for their pitstops. Would you not think that on Thursday they would have checked that the fuel hose coupling that Tickford use on their Fords, would fit the EMS Holden? They didn't, and it didn't. Lucky not to have a massive fire in pitlane. Dumb arses

If you were following the coverage, Eggos did in fact acquire a coupling from Tickford prior to the event. Tickford changed couplings without telling them.

I see Bryce Fullwood got stripped of his win in the 250 klm race today.... for setting a lap record on the last lap, when yellows were showing at the Chase. He got a 15sec penalty which only dropped him one place. Thomas Randle was declared the winner. Plus the lap record was rescinded.

That's the price you pay for showboating sometimes.

He could have won the race at a canter.

Yes I did see that. But wouldn't you think, biggest race of the year, let's just confirm on Thursday at the track that we're all good and they ( Tickford ) haven't changed anything since we checked the rig a few weeks ago.

Dunno, maybe it's just me, but I wouldn't be leaving anything to chance at the biggest meeting of the year for the sake of 5 minutes to check / confirm. Seems pretty basic to me Especially when they had problems last year when they engaged the services of DJRTP ( I think they said it was DJRTP ), so this year they changed to Tickford to avoid a repeat of last year. Common denominator starting to creep in?

I agree. It was silly and not slowing down for yellow flags should be penalised more regularly.

But how crazy was it to let the Eggleston Motorsport cars to be allowed to be refuelled once the problem was known?

They didn't appear to be the only ones peeing fuel all over the ground either. Perhaps go back to a one tank duration and avoid all the drama.

You are kidding.. everyone else was in awe of just how much trouble Eggelston's had gone too trying to prevent such a problem.
The fact Tickford showed up on race day with an altered fuel pump to the one Egglestons had previously sourced & tested is more a testament to Tickford's amateurish nature than Egglestons.

Am I correct in that from the TV images it appears the Eggleston cars had a conical shaped fuel filler whereas the Tickford hoses had flat ends?

Very soft penalty considering the approach is 300Km/h

True, but a bigger penalty than I can remember anyone getting for crashing behind the safety car.

I believe (off the coverage) it was more to do with the alignment pin in the middle.

I shall ask the question of someone who will know for sure though.

The refueling spills were so bad they probably should have been black flagged.

They really need to force them to demonstrate that the gear works in a Practice Session.

Need to avoid the race being the first time everything is used in anger.

Caught the end of the Super2 broadcast on 10 on Saturday, which finished by saying that Fulwood was under investigation for the yellow flag breach - not bad for a week later. I suppose that program have already been broadcast on Fox, but surely not before the penalty was announced?

Sounds like Supercars wish to combine Super 2 and Super 3 for 2020. Why?

It doesn't make sense, who would want to sponsor a Super3 team now? When they know the absolute best outcome is a mid-pack finish?

I was told recently that Super 2 was likely to have as few as 8 cars in 2020.
