Dark Blue
Ok.
We now have 4 liveries w/ dark blue STR RB BMW Sauber Williams Is this color TV freindly or what? Also, 4 liveries w/ red Ferrari MF1 Toyota Honda The Renault will really stand out in this crowd if the keep the same colors. We can only guess what McLaren(blk, slvr rd?) & SA(rd bl?) will come up with. Maybe McLaren could stick with the orange |

Well the BMW is prodimantly white, and will looks completely the opposite to the other three mentioned cars. The Williams also seems to be a darker colour than the Red Bull and Toro Rosso cars.
As for the red colours, the Ferrari is all red, BAR is mostly white and the Toyota is a mixture. The Midland also features silver and black. There won't be much trouble telling these liveries apart. |

I tend to agree with slicktoast.
The schemes seem to land in groups as listed. True there are diferences but will they be enough on track? If McLaren keep the orange they will stand out anywhere on the track. I hope they do keep the orange. Wishful thinking? Cheers Peter |

The Williams and the BMW liveries, are just opposites. However, the Maccas & Renault shold stand out.

you will probably be able to keep the Red Bulls apart from the Torro Rosso's by their speed

Wasn't it claimed that ToroRosso will be having a radical livery?

You could, but make sure people don't mistake you for flogging pay as you go or anything!
I don't mind Blues and reds but I'd like to see some different colours, although that'll obviously all depend on corporate colurs or particular sponsors. On that basis these sorts of companies/brands should be tapped up for sponsorship!! Cadbury (their purple looked nice on a 3000 car years ago) Guiness or Terry's Black Magic chocs, Carlsberg (Green?) Fanta (orange, yellow or green) um.. Mcvities Choc biscuits (brown). Now that lot would give us a bit of variety, although i'm not sure fashion and designer experts would agree with that lot!! |

i agree with slicktoast, the liveries are too boring on most cars.i'm really gonna miss looking at all the cars, mechanics, etc..preparing for the race and among the redish whiteish blueish blur spotting the bright yellow jordans and their crew.
i know they wont but i hope the maclarens stay orange |

Super Aguri in their ARTA programme uses orange fluo as their distinctive colour, because their principal ARTA sponsor, Autobacs, has its logo in black letters and orange background. During last years (IRL / FRV6 / Japanese GT) they mixed the orange fluo with white and blue.
They might keep this scheme for Super Aguri F1 team, if Autobacs joins them there. |

I told this would happen, too much red liveries, too much dark blue... very linear. Oh, about pink, that's an idea, but colors are usually after sponsors' and I can't remember any company related to that particular color... |

Mattel!
I can just see a team with a hot pink livery sponsored by barbie & ken! Actually, let's not go there. ... But it might attract a wider range of audience - think of all those young'uns sitting up late at night (well, if they're in Australia ) to watch the pink cars race. Maybe not. But that doesn't start till 2007 iirc. McLaren wouldn't race in their orange (corporate) colours, mores the pity. |

Maybe they'll start to develop 'stealth' livery,so that the cars 'appear' invisible.Wouldn't that be worth watching!

Are STR really gunna race in (except the nose and air box) identical liveris?!?!?!
that will get the ITV commentaters a bit more confused. They should race in more distinquishable liveries not the same with gold or yellow! They could have picked red and yellow but gold, thats practically a shiny Yellow. |

Or white with yellow/golden noses as Red Bull did in German F3 during mid-1990s (KMS).

I guess sponsor colours is probably the main reason that's holding back more unique/colourful liveries. OTOH, I would expect having a unique livery would generate more attention b/c it's not the same/as boring as everyone else.

It wasn't that long ago (mid '90s) that the same thoughts were being had. Many were saying there were too many blue F1 cars.

The cars looking all too similar is definitely a pet peeve of mine. From any distance or angle a fan can distinguish a Ferrari or (the old) Jordan. I fail to understand why teams don't think this is important. It is! I reckon it can often be the difference for a casual fan to stay tuned or to switch the channel (because F1 looks so faceless).

lets see a full on UPS sponsorship. Honestly, I have always liked the paintjobs on their planes. and brown would really stand out. The problem isn't just the same colors. I mean there are shades of red and shades of blue but everyone running blue seems to gravitate to a sort of navy blue. maybe aqua? somethign that stands out. If people can't help but notice the car wouldn't any sponsorhip be worth more per sqin?

There is a chance that STR will go with the light blue and silver of the sugar free red bull, which at least would make the car stand out form the sister teams cars.
