HSCC - Cadwell Park
Looking at the entry lists this is going to be a great meeting.
If any of you racers are testing Friday and staying over until Sunday then don't be without something to do - you can join us for a day on the other side of the barrier as Marshals (and get a signature if you need one) for the BRSCC meeting on the Saturday. No experience necessary - but I can guarantee it will be one. PM myself or Dean Watson for details. Enjoy the racing on the Sunday - I am sure we will. |

I'll be there in my 70s Roadsports Fiat 128.... I haven't raced at Cadwell since the 90s - can't wait.
If I survive the journey there with its 8000rpm and 4 speed box, that is.... |

I'm just off for a week's skiing, back Sat pm , shower, 6 hour drive to Cadwell ETA midnight, first race out on Sunday.
Perhaps the start marshall could give me a knock when it's time to go |

We've got a full grid of Historic FF2000s out for our first meeting of the year. Really looking forward to it - it's been a long winter.

I'll be there with the Elva 200 (Race #37) - got a busy day as i'm in FJ Rear-engined race as well as CRC which is a double-header ... may have been a bit ambitious with all that!
We have 4 Elva 200s in FJ race. |

Another great day. I'm a new convert to historic racing after many years doing modern one-make stuff. The thing I love, unlike other race meetings, is that the whole programme is full of interesting cars.
Although I was racing my Fiat 128 in 70s roadsports, I still managed to watch 5 of the other races. The Historic Touring Car race 1 was a cracker. |

It was good to catch up with quite a few old friends yesterday; hope that I wasn't too much of a misery. I'll put some pics up in due course, but no review, I'm afraid. Some of you can maybe give us your account of proceedings!

Good to see you again John and looking forward to some pics - I was on my own yesterday so had no-one to record the race 1 duel, finally snatched on the line by 0.02 secs!

Well JT no loss of photo skill during your absence - really captured the essence of the event.
Kind of you to feature me in "Scenic Cadwell" - I'm the flaggie apparently standing in front of the armco - deceptive as I'm covered by the green overlap. Wonderful to watch John M through there in an extravagant elegant controlled powerslide every time. The FF2000 and 1600's were just plain scary through Hall Bends but only one paid a contact visit all day. The variety of lines through there was extraordinary to see and the inconsistency of some drivers from one lap to another a bit frightening. A lot of time can be won/lost through that section - crucial to a fast lap! A slight squint of the eyes and you could have been transported back to contempoary days as so little has changed at CP. Wide open spaces of Silverstone next - not quite the same. Last edited by The Flagman; 12 Apr 2010 at 20:20. Reason: Apologies - were of course Andrew Kitson's photos |

Race 2 - Classic Racing cars
Lovely comments from all of you. Thanks for your support.
Sponsored by Chartland Properties Ltd, this provided a great 3 way dice for the lead, between Ian Gray (BT16), Michael Scott (BT30) and Jon Milicevic who 'buzzed' the two 1600cc cars so effectively in his 1100cc FJ Cooper T59 that he split them at the end and set fastest race lap. Not many pics survived my cull for this race, so Ian Gray, the winner, gets more than his share of coverage!:- |
