Andy H should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Request to all bods who have ever been to Monza. I'm currently slipping together a 10/10ths Circuit Guide for Monza.

If anyone can help with the following sections please let me know (the headings are the same as for the exising UK guides on the site):

- any history and background for the circuit

- comments on viewing areas (especially GA @ curve grande, variante 2a/del Roggita and any grandstands)

- camping facilities/costs/contacts

- recommended hotels/B&B's other local facilities

- details of any track days where you can race on the track yourself

AND finally anything esle you think would be of use to guide.

Either post your thoughts here or drop me an e-mail.

Many Thanks
Andy H

I did a race report from my trip to Monza, but I will recommend the Outer Variente - or I would have, except I understand they have now screwed it up in the name of "safety" The cars come hurtling into it off the main straight, gear down and go through the ess, right at the grandstand, then curve left and shoot off at speed again. Unless they missed the turn and shoot into the wall in front of the grandstand, which is also cool. The Outer Variente has a television screen; the inner one does not. The pit straight grandstand is boring boring boring, is expensive (350 GBP) and is full of Germans. You can't see anything and the air horns will make you deaf. Wear comfortable shoes as you will have a long walk wherever you are going. Don't forget your Italian dictionary.

OK the first draft of the guide is now complete.

Liz/Bella - I'd like you to have a look as people who have been there and done it. Can you drop me an e-mail to donglemouse@yahoo.co.uk, if you want a copy.

Likewise anyone else whether you've been or not if you want to have a look at the draft, please e-mail me.

The plan is to give it a week or two for you to let me know your thoughts then once we have had a chance to incorporate them, then it should go up on the site.

Regards
Andy H

Andy, for a complete history of the Monza circuit I recommend http://www.monzanet.it/inglese/homepage/index.html
Go to 'miscellaneous' and click on 'circuit history'.
