RIKB should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
TOCA tour chief, Richard West has recieved a formal request for the rear wheel drive Lexus IS200, to be put on the list of eligible cars for the BTC Touring class. Privateer team ABG Motorsport plans to run the cars, which should be allowed to enter, barring unforeseen technical problems.

So much for a field full of hatchbacks. this i've gotta see

hey, that is good news RIKB. Let's hope the BTCC can slowly return to being a narrow minded 4 door sedan series again in a few years!!! So now we have a BMW, Alfa and perhaps Lexus sedans in the BTCC, albeit at different levels. Oh well, better than being an all hatchback series!!! ;-)

Hey, I hear Subaru is returning to the WRC in '01 with a sedan as well?

They have already run the IS200 in the NZ touring cars and it goes quite well, altough these would be a lot lower spec than BTCC cars,at a recnt 500km race they were top qualifier in the rain, ahead of all the 300hp+ v8 cars.
