I thought of that but frankly no. The major Historic meetings are as professional as anything you get. Club racing to me is Britcar, FFord, Clubmans etc. But yes the CTCRC is a club event.
I'm tyring to demonstrate that "club" has many meanings though. |

Is right. although of course, I've been well and truely proved wrong - however, I'll make a firm conclusion when the poll closes (leaving the possibility for a surge of votes in the BTCC only catagory!!! ) |

I think maybe BTCC is "motorsport for the masses", and some of them then discover other forms of racing, and move on.

One thing that we're seeing in this thread is there a lot of people who will go to a BTCC round, because it's on at their local circuit, and because it's a racing event. Not "Club Racing only", but probably not enough to say both either. Makes Mike's comment sound exactly right - get involved in motorsport via watching BTCC, then find other series and watch them more. |

Big reason I marshal btcc is its a 2 day event so I can see and work at almost all the circuits, this would not be the case if it was a 1 day event due to travel time and cost, and 2 day events are a great way of getting to meet like minded people and having a beer in the campsite when work is done, but saying this I also attend other 2 day meets and club events on a bank holiday Monday after a btcc weekend.
At the end of the day its your call |
