Well getting back on topic here, IMSA had impounded all of the DP diffusers from the race and points are provisional at this point. Could there be something brewing?

As for the whole extreme sandbagging thing... Finishing 4th ahead of their main rivals for the #3 wasn't bad if they are trying to play a game, but why would the #4 wind up 7th behind both of the BMWs? A Corvette finishing in front of the BMWs at a track where the BMWs should be at their weakest shouldn't raise any suspicions I wouldn't think.

If they already (supposedly) have roughly 6 seconds in hand why would they be trying to angle for more? If they used their current advantage it would already set off all kinds of alarms and cue a major *****-fest along with earning a hell of a BoP hammer. Didn't IMSA say something about penalizing teams for heavy sandbagging? Stop and hold for 5 minutes at the next round or something I thought. That much sandbagging would have to irk the officials and everyone on pitlane I would think.

I thought that the rear diffusers on DP cars were even more spec than the ACO diffusers on the LMP2 cars--the ACO only allow for minor changes, namely no strakes or two strakes, and teams are allowed to modify the strakes, with all dimensions being essentially spec (tunnels starting 1000mm before rear wheel centerline, max length beyond RWCL being 750mm, and exit being 200mm above reference plane).

Also, don't the DP diffusers come from the same maker?

Don't know the specs on the DP diffusers, but I'm guessing they are all the same.... Or at least they were, I'll bet IMSA suspects something may have changed on one or two cars. So either they didn't want to single out the trouble makers or they really suspect something is amiss.

Follow up question, is this something that was possibly noticed during scrutineering?

Rcz should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Well they are either cheating or they are trying to slow them down for P2 cars again.

The Vette DPs keep getting there HP pull down and were just given a weight increase. The Vette DP being so unbeatable is probably confounding them.

To be fair, had Ganassi not had their problems they would have been right in the mix at the front. The Corvette DP will continue to get the most wins as long as it makes up most of the class.
