ford boy should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
What teams have spare cars??

Just wondering what teams have spare cars due to these reverse grid races and short turn around times between rounds which might stretch some teams to the limits if they dont have a spare available?

PE 3 - 040/1/2 although 2 are needed for the Development series
WPS 2 - Baird & Besnard 00 built cars, presuming the 06 cars are new and the ex Larkham cars have been sold for the Development series
BJR 2 - BJR003/4
DJR 3 - DJRBA14/5/6 although the first 2 are needed for the Development series
PCR 0

888 with no spares, that's a bit scary.

If 888 have no spares, what is the 3rd car in the photos of their workshop in AA this week?

Not sure how old the picture is of course... when did PCR take delivery of their BA?

Mr Lowndes has a brand new chassis for this year, while his old one now belongs to Mr Whincup... as PCR has apparently taken Mr Ellery's from last year..

How many chassis have 888 built? There were the 2 original Briggs cars, which sit at Howard's, two original 888 BAs with the glass bits in them (glass = always breaking), one of which is at Howard's, the other presumably at 888.. while there were 2 new cars built for the start of last year.. and Mr Lowndes newby for 2006...

That makes 7 chassis... 3 at Howard's, 1 at PCR, and 3 at 888...

I believe that Ambrose's 05 chassis will be spare for the start of the season until they build a new spare one.

From what I have seen T8 have at least one spare. I go into their shop all the time and there is always at least 3 cars there, and I'm sure they could call on Howard Racing if the worst happened and they lost 2 cars in a weekend. The car at South Bank last week was a spare. I was at T8's test on Monday and both team and Lowndesy told me that the cars for this year are last years cars with total rebuilds not new ones (sorry GTR). Lowndes car was a new one last year. Ambrose almost won 3 championships with the one car so why build a new one every year? T8 are in good shape. There is no way they would risk not having a spare for Lowndes.

PE stands for Perkins Engineering. They number chassis with PE in front of the numbers. Their newest car is PE043. Their oldest on line car is PE040 (debuted by Larry at the beginning of the 2002 season).

I would have thought that PMM would have at least a car capable of being finished off in a short time incase it was needed.

I noticed HRT's spare car as 048. This was Rick's car from last year, are we assuming that Rick has a new car for the year and it is 052??

My records for last show that HRT had 043 and 045 as spares. KRT had 044 which was raced by D'Alberto and PWR had 041 and 042. From what I know so far I think PWR have sold 041? to Mark Porter. That leaves spares for HRT 043,045,051. KRT if Rick gets a new car 048 and 044 and PWR 042 and 047. Can anyone confirm this??

HRT and HSV are apparently sharing HRT043 as spare car this year.
also heard that apparently Tony D'Alberto has bought 1 of the HSV cars from last year to run in this years fujitsu series.

So has 044 gone back to HRT/HSVDT? Because I believe D'Ablerto was only leasing the car. Does that mean D'Alberto got 048?
HRT 043 would not be spare as HRT (Mark Skaife) had kept the car to re livery and re spec back to Champship edition. Apparently they were still deciding on what spec to do.
I spoke to Jeff Grech at PI last year and he said that HRT were just about to sell 045, they weren't sure if the buyer could come up with the money. Does anyone know whether this went ahead?

I understand Mr D'Alberto has 2 ex-TWR/HRT/HMS chassis in his workshop, owned not leased... and is looking for a driver to take the 2nd seat.... unless of course they managed to trade the 2004 Bathurst winner (with old 18 degree engine) on a later Aurora-powered rocket...

I take back the above, as I have some of it mixed up. JC you were right 043 is a HRT spare. 045 is the one HRT are keeping to display at workshop.

048 has been sold to D'Alberto so effectively now OWNING 044 and 048.

The deal apparently fell through for HRT 043, not 045 as I quoted.

048 is powered by a Holden Motorsport Engine!
