Hey hey hey, I think we Kiwis still love our single seaters. Just not A1GP . And besides lets get F1 down here. We deserve it!

I guess its an alternative to losing money on a v8 event.
This was good news....... Quote:
This event has been on a slippery slope from the outset and another addition on the negative to V8SC business model of government supported street tracks. This is just the start. |

One would hope so Chatters.
The support the V8SC gets in NZ obviously justifies a race but at the same time no government or council will probably be optimistic enough to finance another big street race. I would think the V8 circus needs NZ more than NZ needs them so if no street race genie appears on the horizon then a circuit race would be the most cost effective option to give the cars and sponsors exposure in front of the fans over there. It would be an insult if we were to have no race in NZ but a race in Manila for Chrissakes. |

And yet F1 has gone to Bahrain, with how many people there? They have mentioned Qatar also, and I think that has fewer than one million. Of course, they do have oil.

i was linking price to population,
not saying that they wouldnt go to somewhere with a small population there is not anything in NZ that would cause F1 to go there, thus they would want top price |

Big deal, it really irrelevant and very small picture
expanding market share is the goal, NZ doesnt provide that so the cost is high besides history has shown that NZ is very backward in this type of thing, they would struggle to get resource consent or whatever the backward word is, then half the people will complain and moan about it, just like people are complaining about the rugby in this thread. |

Damn right i'm a hater. We spend to much money on brainless morons who kick a ball around a field. We're going to lose money, 30M to be exact. Not going to make a cent.
I'd much rather lose money on having a F1 Grand Prix here, or the ILMC, FIA GT1, V8 Supercars, Super GT ect ect. The only thing rugby is good for is promoting gay rights. |
