luckn002 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
BTCC 2018 - Rounds 4, 5, 6 - Donington Park

Time for the second weekend of the season!

Last year Rob Austin was on pole (though Sutton went quicker) with race wins for Moffat, Ingram and Turkington (after a penalty for Shedden).

Any predictions? I hope Motorbase can get some better results this weekend; they looked so promising at Brands with all 3 drivers but never really got the results to show it. Dynamics have a lot of work to do too after a fairly underwhelming season opener.

Just had my pre race weekend fix watching Motorbase doing their shakedowns. So kind of them to come and entertain me before work.

Based on Brands form and weather Oli J for another podium seems a realistic prospect.

Are we due for JP to move on to engine excuses yet or will it be tyres again? 😉

My Money is on Sheddon and Matt Jackson to pick up a win apiece, with Plato winning race 3.

Meh these keyboard warriors.

Matt Jackson is a great driver, and although he was rather anonymous on the opening race weekend, I have every faith that he will come good again. Just like Sheddon and Plato, you should never right him off, and I reckon all three will be on the podium at Donington.

You're not being serious are you? You do know why Matt Jackson didn't feature at Brands? (Or Shedden for that matter...) Plus, based on what we've ,earned so far, even though he will be there, I personally agree that Plato has a much chance of winning a race as the other two!

I think a fair amount of 'tone' to the messages has been lost.

Note that steve referred to Matt and Sheddon - not Mat and Shedden. I'm pretty certain that we won't really see fictitious drivers on the podium, let alone drivers who are no longer in the series.

Plato on the other hand - he's told us that he has had his Eureka moment, so if his results don't improve soon then serious questions must surely be asked?

I thought when I read this that it could only be typed with the aid of some form of mind-altering pharmaceuticals......

Having watched the races, I'm convinced of it......

If you were thinking of a career as a forecaster, I'd reconsider

At Brands, Tordoff managed to put a Motorbase Ford up the sharp end of the grid for qualifying — in a session where no one had ballast. That's top form. I expect him to go well again now championship ballast has taken effect. The Hondas of Neal, Cammish and Nash should also be up at the pointy end.

Of course, rain could change all of that. Remember the loopy wet qualifying at Donington a couple of seasons back?

Plato was pretty close to Turkington in 2016, occasionally running ahead of him, so what’s happened in those two years since?

He needs the input from an ophthalmic specialist to help him find the front of his car! Or so he says, or words to that effect.
