That's a shame - the organisers seemed confident earlier in the week that the weather was playing ball this year. Hopefully the stages don't cut up too badly.

The highlights show has re-appeared on CH5s 5 Spike channel. Sweden is Monday.

Went to Vargåsen today. The WRC cars are so fast!

Been some good action overall during the day and the roads held up better than yesterday, besides from Hagfors. Tänak will probably run off with the win but the battle right behind for the podium is quite thrilling.

But my god, the amount of drunken and partying people is tragic for the rest. On one stage some drunk 18-year olds cut down a tree that fell on to the stage and almost hit a competitor. And at Vargåsen some people could barely stand on their legs, with a few very close to getting on to the stage in the middle of running.

Yikes! Sweden is on my list of rallies but that kind of excessive consumption puts me off. I suppose people in that kinda state are mostly harmless..mostly. Kinda reminds me of when I went to Finland all those years. Lots of folks in the forest in a daze very early in the morning but they mostly kept themselves to themselves.

Anyway, Tanak had speed to throw away last weekend. He and Toyota are going to clean up this year if Ott keeps it on the road while setting alien stage times - and the car holds together. It seemed a little fragile last year. Impressive pace from Teemu on day 1 too. The Ford still has some pace in it even if it's early in the season.

Impressive from Tanak all weekend (again) - as you say if the Toyota is less fragile than last year then Tanak has to be the clear favourite for the title. It seemed this weekend that everyone else was making mistakes whilst Tanak was error free and fast. What it did seem to show though is that the different cars all seem close in pace again this year which has to be good.

Hyundai have also elected to replace Mikklesen with Sordo for Corsica - meaning that the lineup will be Neuville, Sordo and Loeb - getting the tarmac specialists in seems like a good idea. I assume they'll take the same approach at other tarmac events later in the season too.

It will be interesting to see how Tanak will manage the first day of cleaning in Mexico compared to the two closest rival.

I'm also curious to see if he will reach the whining level of Seb

5 Spike showed a preview to Mexico, so does that mean we will see coverage back on C5?

I have seen some great clips from Belgium over the years (the RallyMedia You Tube channel has loads of great videos), but never found a reliable source for coverage!

Hopefully, as it's nice to have the hour long round up. The Red Bull TV coverage has been pretty good this year though, so I will be watching that whenever I can.

Yes its great and I think its one of the strongest local championships in Europe. Every year I go to several BRC rally and its great. About coverage its quite difficult. Some Belgian local tv is doing some coverage after the event but you are still dependent on the livetiming.

I saw it. Gutted for Evans, just that hole in the road prevented him from winning. At least the title race is still close

I've not seen it all yet - I've watched some of it. Meeke still looks to be overdriving - picking up damage again that ruins his rally. Have to admit I was surprised by the pace of the Fiesta - I thought that'd be bottom of the pile but if anything the Citroen looked to be struggling on the tarmac with even Ogier not able to wring any more pace out of it - both him and Lappi seemed to think they were getting the most out of the car but the times just weren't there. Loeb joined Meeke in damaging the car early so didn't really figure in the fight after that.

There seemed to be a lot of punctures - people taking risks with big cuts on corners? Or are those tyres just a bit weak on the sidewalls?

I'm not sure Meeke is overdriving. It looks to me like he's made a concerted effort to reign it in a bit. Just a little unlucky I thought. Still the speed is there so it will come, he's been blisteringly fast on at least two power stages this year. Yes, I know, that alone won't win a rally let alone a championship but better being fast and turning it down a notch than being slow no matter what you try.

Latvala was nowhere, I know he wears his heart on his sleeve but I'm always surprised when he admits his head is gone. Ok, he doesn't use those exact words but he practically infers it by talking about the feeling not being there etc. He's honest, there's no BS with him but I can't help feeling he'll be forced into retirement next season. If Toyota were to go down to two cars, I suspect he might be one shown the door.

Perhaps Lappi might come back because he looks so so unhappy in that Citroen. Jeez! He's miserable at stage end. Looks completely at sea and he doesn't know why. Contrast with Breen's emotions when he was in the hot seat.

Evans and the Fiesta were a real surprise as you say. Teemu backed it up too and was probably being cautious to finish after the start to the season he has had.

Absolutely gutted for Evans, but I was pleasantly surprised to see the M-Sport Fiesta in the thick of it. I really didn't think we'd see that car so competitive this year, I hope Corsica isn't a one off for either the car or Evans.

Some incredible flashes of pace from Meeke. I think he may be still slightly overdriving but, as cg7aa aid, if he can dial it back just a fraction more he should be in the right place. I don't think he looks to anywhere as close to the ragged edge as he was at Citroen though.

Meeke mentioned that he's quick on Shakedown and quick on the Power Stage - he just needs to get the bit in between right! Good to see he has a sense of humour about it. Agreed though he's not looking as ragged he was in the Citroen.

I like Latvala - but I think you're right on all counts here.

That's a good point - Lappi just looked dazed and confused - he was convinced he'd got everything out of the car but the times were nowhere. That's got to be demoralising - the only saving grace was that Ogier was also saying similar things so it was likely the car was off the pace rather than the drivers.

We've seen speed from Evans before but with Suninen looking quick too the Fiesta was obviously working well (which is good to see after their obvious budget issues). Imagine how well Ogier could have gone in it!

Pretty brutal event again in Argentina - Evans rolled out and Lappi had a big off too (even getting the 'vote of confidence' from the team boss). Neuville survived the carnage to win, Tanak out of luck again. The Toyotas looked to be the fastest car again - all three drivers showed some serious pace at points over the weekend, they just can't seem to string it all together for a result.

Neuville's crash in Chile was quite shocking, it reminded me of two of the biggest rally accidents I've ever seen in the sport: Makinen in Argentina 2004 and McRae in Wales 2001. The sheer violence of the crashes makes you wonder how anyone gets out of the wreck. Thankfully they all did.
