Likely that DJR/TP will provide Scotty with a faster car and of course there's always the overseas doors that Roger could perhaps open for him.

Yeah this..

If Scotty Mac goes somewhere other then Penske it won’t be Triple 8..or even in Australia for that matter. That would be a backwards step.:

Im sure Scotty with his Penske backing will be the next Aussie in USA so your thinking 888 is way off mark.

He doesnt have the desire to race, hence he pulled himself from the Supercar ranks many years ago. I believe its just a interest/investment for him with his other Auto interests where as I believe Jamies is alot different circumstances.

Where in the USA can he go with Penske?

Supercars is hardly the grounding required for Indycar or DPi Sportscars, and NASCAR has become a bit like NFL, you start young and work your way up the system usually in a teams development program. It's unlikely you could do an Ambrose these days

Has Scott voiced a desire to move to the US and race?

Roger might also prefer his young star to remain the face of his Australian operation and continue to win races.

Scott said in a previous interview that its something that could be a goal. Roger also suggested it would be great to have Scott race for Penske in the US Coming through the lower Tiers. Not jump int the Big Game straight away.

I would say Scott is already too old to start in the lower tiers in the USA. If Scotty M was starting out in the Supercars lower tiers now at his current age, would you expect him to get where his now?

Drivers are getting into the Cup Series by 20 nowdays

Im only relaying what I heard, Mind you Ambrose didnt go until what age?
Financially it would be a better gig. Anyway the options are there for him which ever way he wants to go I guess.

https://www.speedcafe.com/2018/11/29...-time-holiday/

“My plan with that number is either Shane or Jamie will run it at Bathurst and the enduros next year with Craig and at some point, and probably as and when Jamie retires, we might introduce it on a full-time basis again depending on who ends up driving for us,” Dane told Speedcafe.com.
https://www.supercars.com/news/champ...2019-decision/
Dane definitively ruled out running four cars, which he had mooted as being among the possibilities when Lowndes’ retirement was announced.
“We won't run four cars. I never say never, but for next year it will be two or three,” he said.

Can I put $5 down to say one or both of those will not qualify well, over-drive and end up in the wall, probably at 8?

Or outbraking themselves at the final hairpin, and taking someone else out?
