Very organised, French Rallycross, they`ve even decided where their ERC rounds should be for the next few years.

2011 - Circuit des Ducs - Essay
2012 - Circuit de l'Ouest Parisien - Dreux
2013 - Circuit des Tourneix - Châteauroux St.-Maur
2014 - Circuit de Lohéac - Lohéac

??? - So where is the "joker lap" going to be at Essay?
??? - anyone know why "Loheac" has been delayed?

I like St Maur - lovely little track, hope the ERC going there doesn`t ruin it too much, they will also need a joker lap, shame............

Dont think it needs one till the FIA have to do another track inspection, but it is one track that could do with one. Be good if they ran it through the middle of the campsite and then they could have a quite side and a noisy side.

From RXO: […] starting already by the end of March 2010 with a new track inspection at the Circuit des Ducs at Essay where the organizer is currently re-building a section of the track for the so-called 'joker lap'.

Essay is an awesome track dont really need the joker lap always produces fantastic racing still I guess to continue holding events spose it will come in the end! Although in such a confined space will be interesting to see where the joker lap would be in a very compact and tiny circuit compared to others. And the campsite and fans have to be seen to be believed great atmosphere at night,Last few years I have been going you will always find fans asleep at the spectator fences in the morning, beer cans by there sides and french sticks waiting to be consumed from the night before lol!

I wonder too, where the joker lap will be - probably have to dig out the bank on the run up to the the hairpin. And we will have another piece of track hemmed in with armco, and maybe only the car roof visible, sorry in a moaning mood.

There is a stream the other side of the circuit, so cannot see expansion there as likely.

Worse will be the St-Maur track getting the "joker" treatment, real shame as the track is not hemmed in by armco, there is room to run wide, and space to race. When will F1 and european rallycross learn that we want to see cars racing together, not cars running on there own as thats the quickest way. For that I could go and watch a track attack event, hill climb, sprint or rally. I just want to see cars race and overtake................

I was at Essay this year for the first time and was really torn on the joker lap issue. There didnt appear to be anywhere to overtake (unless you rammed up the inside at the hairpin) so it could benefit from a joker lap. But on the other hand, it was great to see the faster cars trying to find a way through and made the races really interesting. Tough one!

Anyway, maybe you could run it after the first corner, bit tighter and go back onto the infield; but maybe there is not enough room. Would be a real shame if they cut further into the bank by the hairpin as would ruin spectating.
