F3000 Cancelled

From small print in to-day's 'Autosport;
'Estoril circuit has cancelled this weekend's Euro F3000 opening round.Series boss Pierluiji Corbari admitted to being baffled as to the reason.'
Hope no one is already on the way there!

The circuit owners sent out a 27 word fax to the EuroF3000 organisers on Monday telling them that the race was canclled (and no reason given!) Not very impressive...

May 4th's Euro3000 race at the Nurburgring is back on the Euro3000 calendar, but will now be the opening round of the series after this weekend's race in Portugal was cancelled.

Series bosses pulled the plug on the race after learning that the promoters of the event at Estoril hadn't found any support races, or any sponsors for the weekend to go ahead.

The last minute change is likely to leave many teams out of pocket, as they will have booked flights and hotels, however the Portuguese race promoters could be forced to pay compensation.
