In the end, Porsche's decision to delay their HDF package paid off. Toyota didn't win LM and now their chances of challenging for the title are pretty slim.

Somewhat true, but I think it depends track. Mexico needs higher downforce than most of the other tracks with the altitude. Porsche has more than Toyota in that department but the Toyota's have higher top speed which will be beneficial at Fuji and Shanghai.

Does seem that the 36 isn't any slower than the 26. They've changed position and the 26 isn't pulling away.

61 has some lovely front end damage. That looks worse than it used to be.

If the Toyotas can pick up the pace a little and get lucky with the traffic, then yes. But otherwise there will still be a big gap (~25s) between Lotterer and Nakajima that will only grow.
