In terms of fuel efficiency, I would have thought that the LMP2 engine are more fuel efficient than the DP engine but, as you say, happy to be proven wrong.

Having had a look at the figure, the Judd and Nissan are very very close on performance. Having said that, the Judd presents two major advantages for some LMP2 teams:
1) you can lease it rather that purchase that puts strain on your cash flow...
2) you can re-brand it (Lotus, Rebellion...)
sure... in your opinion are close in performance, is just a coincidence if in 2011 a judd powered car won just one race (6h of silverstone, but ONLY in ILMC class) while nissan powered cars won all LMS races and 5 races on 7 of ILMC?

Most of the P2 teams seem to think the Nissan engine is the way to go---when's the last time you heard of a team switching from Nissan to Judd?

Alex, I can't disagree with you on 2011 but Judd has done well in 2012 and the fact that they had the restrictor size reduced is a sign of the improved performance.

Looking at the data, it feels that there is a bit more bottom end torque for Nissan and a bit more top end for Judd but pretty even.

Also and as always, were last year results due to the engine or car/team/drivers... the eternal question...
