Well after sending my letter to the MSA stating how i would not attend this years event as a marshal due to last year having my wallet (£200 + train ticket) and mobile phone stolen from in my tent, while i was asleep. Ie Campsite security. I'm now hoping to blag my way into the event to watch... Anyone got any spare passes that they dont want?
For those who are interested in the history of why i'm not marshalling, and also why no other Australian Marshals will be atending this year then listen up:
Basically goes somthing like this... invited to event (WooHoo!) fly over to the UK, get accom in London, week later head up to Silverstone.... Saturday night get my gear nicked. Sunday morning, ask MSA (Who invited me form Australia), and Silverstone if they could lend me money for the race days food and water, and to buy a new train ticket back to London, which i would then send them a cheque for... They refussed.
Only due to other marshals generosity and team sprirt did i survive the day, and get home safely. Patt on the back to you guys.
