Excellent!
Possibly the best bit of the entire event. Actually thinking about it, we could do the same in 2012. We could have an Mg......... er, ok a Ford,........ um A Williams.......... nope, A Bentle............ oops |

Good point, but it would be more interesting than watching hundreds of people dancing around the pitch.

What a shame that noise will no longer be a part of F1.
Someone should have told Badoer to move around more, he was lost in smoke after about 3 donuts and you couldnt see the car at all, the director was shifting camera positions trying to get a decent shot... heh heh. |

Thanks for that, missed it as was out during that part of ceremony. Did lose the car part way through what with all the smoke though...

Yep, indeed, as Monster pointed out, things really should have been organised better to account for the smoke(i.e. Badoer should've known/been todl to to move about more).

It was cool, but you couldn't see the car either! (surely a fundamental part somewhere along the line...?!)

But ,then, come to think of it, in a stadium such as that it may well be more a sound thing.
I mean, it must've been something else, all the screeching, and its echo, blamming around the stadium. |

I was slightly surprised though - stadium only held 32000 iirc, expected it to be more than that. But the noise within there....amazing.

See, I stayed up until 5 AM to see this (I was watching the rerun of it) after reading on Wikipedia that the Ferrari was part of the ceremony. Then NBC, being the geniuses they always are, decided I did not need to see a car doing donuts and burnouts on the ice.
I really wish someone had told me that this part of the ceremony was going to be on the internet so I could have actually gotten some sleep Friday night.... |

Well maybe you shouldn't be *too* excited - it wasn't on ice (For the record - it was decided by the Turin Games organisers not to use ice after the problems the Salt Lake City guys had with their ice four years ago - instead of ice skaters etc they had roller bladers).
At least you knew the Ferrari was going to be featuring in the ceremony anyway - I didn't! |
